Okay so here's the deal....

We are staying at WL for our 25th. We really want a room with a King bed, not two beds and would prefer that it not be a ADA room. When I made the ressie they said they could put in a request for a King bed but couldn't guarantee it. wahhhh!!!! DH is not a small guy and when this happened for our 15th we ended up sleeping in sererate beds! lol

I'd also like to plan a few other little surprises for him. Is there a way to call the resort directly and ask them about this or put in our request with them directly?

gracias, danke, merci and thank you!!!!!

Your best bet is to have your requests noted on the ressie, and then kindly inquire at check-in.Unfortunately, King beds are considered a request.

The only way to guarantee a king bed room at the WL, is to book a honeymoon suite. Otherwise, as the previous poster pointed out, it's only a request. It sounds like you already have the request noted on your reservation. It doesn't hurt to have a notation added for your anniversary, sometimes it helps. Some DIS'ers recommend faxing a reminder 3 or 4 days before you arrive, 407-824-3232. Depending on volume, they may or may not read your fax, so this shouldn't be used as your only method of requesting.

In regards to ordering special things, do you mean food items, or gifts? There are a few people here that offer a gift basket company, where they'll purchase items for you, arrange them all and deliver it to the resort. You can also take a look at the Disney florists website for idea's. If you want to order special food, like the chocolate covered strawberries, an anniversary cake, or a private meal somewhere, you can call the WL bakery 407-824-2090. Some things you could order right from your room, other things require a 48 hour lead time. They'd be happy to work with you to make something memorable.

Good luck with all your planning.

I requested a king at the POP and faxed them about 1 week before leaving. When we got there we were given 2 doubles but I made DH ask again for a King room and we were given a regular King room. I was very excited! :)

Good luck to you. All you can do is ask, right?

FYI, not sure if ALL the king bed rooms at WL are like this but our King room was handicapped accessible. Basically that meant it was on the first floor (walk toward the food court and as you pass the food court on your left, our room was the door straight ahead of you) and the room was smaller because the bathroom was bigger. There was no lip on the bathroom floor or through the shower so water often leaked out. There is also no bathtub, if that makes a difference.

Anyway, didn't mean to rant about the dimensions of the room but just wanted to give you info. Our TA put in this request for us and our trip was in the beginning of August and we still got it! :thumbsup2

Definitely make sure it is on your reservation.
