How do I get into Ohana's?

Coming from the UK, we are unable to attend Disney world as frequently as we like. And by this I mean no more than once every 5 years! So, I am over the moon with the fact I can FINALLY say we've started planning our 2022 September trip! Flights booked, hotel booked (off property), the UK unlimited 14day Disney and Universal ticket brought!!! All I need to do now is make sure we get into the dining we want in order to satisfy our bi-decade desires. And alas, the place which we enjoyed more than anywhere when we went in 2017 appears to be unbookable!!! Way, way back in 2017, getting an evening meal at Ohana's was rather easy. We went in September, managed to get a table by booking in advance, we had a lovely meal and spent the rest of the night in Trader Sams. My friends all want to do this again but I am wondering if this is a pipe dream now.

I have a bit of an advantage being within the UK as the daily release of restaurant bookings for the 60 days happens around 10am so I have been keeping an eye on it. I've been looking most days to see if i could theoretically book Ohana's 60days in advance and I have not seen an evening booking available since I started a couple of months back. Whats happening? I remember back in 2017 it was easy to get a recently cancelled table at Ohana's also, as I swapped my reservation a couple of days beforehand since someone must have cancelled. So I have also been looking at the availability over the next 5 days to see if thats still common but I havent seen any evening meal times. Has something changed with the bookings for this restaurant specifically? I know i will not be able to see September dates till around July but if there are any tips anyone has to ensure we can get this reservation I would be very grateful.

Following on from this also, would anyone know of any other locations for 4 adults in their 30s to go? I will say none of us are into actual Disney-movies so please no suggestions with heavy characters/movie themeing. We do like Star Wars but not over the top with it... I've thought of places like Beirgarten, Teppan Edo and House of Blues so far. I did think of the French pavilion in EPCOT but being a train ride away from France, we would rather just head to France directly from home than eat French food in America.
And if anyone knows of any bars which are quirky like Trader Sams! As I say, the last time we went was 2017 so almost unknown to anything new since then. Im super hoping you can just walk into Trader Sams like before (fingers crossed).

THANKYOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP, TIPS, OR SUGGESTIONS!!

Check for a specific time vs evening or dinner. The disadvantage you have is you can’t book out at 60 days +10 future days. So you will always be behind on site guests who get that perk.

all you can do is keep trying and even when here try. Adrs are cancelled every day. September might not be as bad as past years w/o free dining offers, good luck!

Disney switched from being able to book 180 days out to just 60 days. Orlando normally does Magical Dining Month in September where a lot of restaurants around the city have special fixed priced dinner selections. It’s not at Disney but In Orlando would a Brazilian Steakhouse like Fogo de Chao be something of interest for your group?
I like CowFish at Citywalk in Universal - burgers and sushi. Universal would be having Halloween Horrors Nights in September that might also appeal to your group.

You can try to book Ohana at your 60 day window at 6am Florida time. Sometimes ADRs become available closer to the date as people adjust their plans
