How do i get from WH to Grand Floridian?

I take it you will be driving and just need general directions?

You need to follow signs to the Magic Kingdom and when going through the booths to pay parking fees stay to the right hand side. Tell the CM that you are visiting the GF and they will let you through. The CM will give you general directions and the GF is sign posted along with the other hotels in the MK area.

Sorry if you wanted more detailed I instructions, perhaps someone else will come along who can post a map. I wasn't sure if you knew the area or not. :)

Samantha has it right. Just follow the signs to the Magic Kingdom, go through one of the rightmost public parking booths (telling them, as mentioned, where you are headed), and then follow the signs. You will bear right instead of going more left to the MK parking. You will then turn left, drive past the MK, and follow the signs. They have self-parking or valet parking at the GF.

Thank you both! So we take 192, right? And we'll go through the tollbooth, but as long as we tell them where we're going, we won't pay? We're visiting with friends who will be at GF, do we just tell the parking people at GF that, or is there even anyone to tell? We've always stayed on site, so driving is new to us, and we've never been to GF before either, lol!

Taking the 192 is fine, and then follow signs for WDW and MK. It is well signposted. There is a guard at the GF entrance to tell, although self park is on the opposite side of the road and wasn't manned last time we went. However, we always check with the guard at the main entrance and they will direct you.

You can use the Sherbeth Road way to all parks for WDW as well from WH, but either is fine for MK :)

We will be at WH at the end of this month, can't wait :yay:

you can get there several ways - one is the front entrance thru the MK - the other is thru where FW is located.

Is one way better than another? And if so, can you give me the rundown on how we do it? As I mentioned, we've never driven at Disney before, nor stayed at Windsor Hills, so I'm totally clueless! Thanks!

It is not difficult at all. Our trip this past May was our first time offsite too. What we did before our trip was write down every address of where we needed to go (airport, Windsor Hills, Publix, each Disney park, Disney resort addresses, etc.) and load them into the GPS in each of our phones. What we found out once we got to the area is that everything regarding Disney World is well marked and signs visible so we didn't need to really use our GPS much. The main way to get to Disney property from Windsor Hills is the World Drive entrance. Coming out of the Windsor Hills entrance gate you make a left onto North Old Lake Wilson Road and drive until you reach a light/intersection, at the light/intersection make a right onto route 192. You are going to keep straight and you will see signs for Disney World and World Drive. You turn right onto the ramp for World Drive which is the road that will lead you to various points on Disney property such as the parks, resorts, etc. Once you are on World Drive you will see signs for the parks and you will want to get in the lane and follow signs for the Magic Kingdom and Magic Kingdom area resorts and be in the correct lane for the resorts. Again everything is well marked from what I remember so driving from Windsor Hills to Disney property isn't going to be as daunting as it may seem now. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thank you, that does help and make me a little less nervous! There are a ton of things I won't miss about the Disney busses, but getting on and vegging out isn't one of them, lol :)

For AK (and maybe other parks?) that's not the road I want to use, right? Sherbeth Road or something? Will that be marked as well?

You can use World Drive or Sherberth Road to get to all of the Disney parks, but since Windsor Hills is closest to the AK area, using Sherberth Road is the quickest way to get to AK from Windsor Hills.
