A 2+ year old? He would be 2 years and 11 months and pushing 42 inches, but I would like to take advantage of the disney shuttle to and from the resort and airport, but what about a car seat? Do they provide one? Do I need to request one? Do I have to bring my own? Finally what about the flight, does he get his own seat or will he be in one of our laps? I know there are a lot of questions, but this seems to be our biggest obstacle for an otherwise already planned trip. Thanks for any insights!!! :yay: :confused3

I think federal regulations require that all kids over 2 have their own seat on the airplane, though some airlines offer reduced fares (I've heard).

As for ME, the kids don't have to be in carseats from MCO to WDW. I'm not sure why, exactly, but it's the same way here in Texas if we take a shuttle to the airport - DS just sits in our laps. I don't even think the seats have seatbelts.

I hope that you have already bought your child a seat on the plane, because by federal law he will have to have one. You do not have to use your car seat on the plane, but if you do, make sure it is FAA approved. You can also gate check it and get it back at your arrival gate. Most people do not use the carseats on buses. There aren't any seat belts that I am aware of and the car seat would be more of a danger in that case. Good Luck!!

We pondered the same thing for our 3 yr old. We did not bring a car seat. No belts on ME and also none on the Disney buses. I think he thought it just grand that he didn't need a car seat. Everything worked out great and we never gave it a second thought. The stroller was more of a pain but definitely worth it. Bring one that's easily foldable. Check it right at the airplane gate and it's there when you arrive at MCO. You'll also do a lot of folding of the stroller getting on the disney buses - just be prepared. Have a great time!

My dd will be the same age. I am not using a car seat on the plane. I am actually not taking one. She can just sit on my lap.
