How do I find cheap flights from NC to FLA?

I use sidestep. It checks all the airlines at the same time. I installed it on my computer and love it.

Good luck. We are centrally located so I price RDU, GSO and Charlotte. Almost always RDU is the cheapest, I guess because it is the only one with Southwest. Airfares are running about $60-80 more per person this year than last, and last year's flights were more expensive than the year before. Keep checking--Southwest and Airtran will run special, you just have to keep checking (for me this means 2X a day, but I'm a bit compulsive) Airtran will have a layover. Charlotte has the most # of direct on USAir, but they are rarely discounted. We plan on driving in June--first time doing so, we'll see how it goes.

Id like to know how to get cheap fare too...I downloaded sidestep, but my husband took it off because of the spy ware that came with it. I will will fly out of gso or rdu or clt.

Chase, if you live in eastern nc, i would suggest ORF, or PHF. We normally fly out of ORF but this year we found a much cheaper flight with Delta out of a smaller airport (PHF) which changes over in Atlanta.

BTW, we went straight to the Delta website for the ressies. They were by far the cheapest than other searches.

We have found it is almost always cheaper to fly out of GSO. I don't often check RDU as it is a bit far for us. The best thing about GSO is how quick you can be in and out of there. It is just amazing.

We don't fly very often any more. As early as you have to arrive and the mess of the Orlando airport and ground transport, it is only a few hours longer to drive.

For us flying has always meant making the drive to RDU and flying from there. This year we have decided that it might be only a few hours more to just drive (and hopefully cheaper). I haven't driven be fore, but after checking out maps and getting advice on these boards I am figuring on about a 10hr drive from Catawba county.
If you do pursue flying, just be sure to thuroughly check what are quaintly called "bucket shops" on the web (just google those words and you'll be OK). It has been my experience that airfares for the same flight can vary GREATLY.

It is usually cheaper to fly from RDU or GSO but recently I found good prices from CLT on USAirways under $200/pp. We're planning on going in Oct. 2004. Needless to say, I plan to get my tickets soon before the price goes up again.

My brother flies regularly out of Wilmington and RDU. He researches and based on his findings told me to try Priceline.
I booked 2 seats round trip for $166.00 incl.tax and fees on Delta out of RDU about 5 weeks out from my trip.
they are back up over 200. 00 now.
My options were GSO and RDU from my home. They were both the same for quite some time, then all of a sudden RDU got cheaper and cheaper . Perhaps because they have more flights, etc.
Never booked flights myself before,so I feel ok for my 1st try.
