How Do I Do This?

On October 7th myself, dh, ds(6), and dd (9) will be checking into the Regal Sun by DTD. On October 8th the 4 of us will be checking into a studio at SSR. On October 9th my in-laws will be checking into a 2br unit with my 2 kids. They won't get in until later in the evening. I would like to be able to check them in early so I can move the kids stuff to their unit and make sure that they get a unit by us. Since your name can't be on more than one reservation at a time (so I have been told by MS) how do I accomplish what I want to do?

Did you make the reservation for both units? If you were checking in the same day, I think you could check both in with the reservations linked, but since they are a day apart, and you don't have them linked, I don't think there is any way to do what you want to do. Don't hold your breath on being near each other or even in the same building unless you made that request when you booked the reservation.

You can't have your name as lead on two reservations but we've had people on two different reservations for the same day. Just call MS and add yourself to the 2BR unit - assuming it was made with your points. Or have your in-laws do it if it's theirs.

Put the studio reservation in your husband's name and the 2BR in your name.

You can list him as lead on one and a guest on the other. He will then have a key for the actual room he is staying in.

I believe that anyone listed on a reservation (lead or otherwise) can check in to the room when they arrive. So, just add to the 2 bedroom reservation whichever one of you is NOT the lead on the studio reservation.

If he wants a key he needs to be on the reservation too!

You can also call and give them the reservation numbers and request to be next to each other. I just did this with a DVC reservation and a AP cash reservation for our friends. We then switched wife's names on the reservations so we could discount the second room and check into the 2nd room the next morning. We checked into our room the day before. We ended up being across the hall from each other. If member services can't really help, I would call the resort directly about trying to get the rooms next to each other or as close as possible.
