How do I delete a post?

I see the "edit/delete" button, but have yet to see anything once in the edit section to delete a post. I've tried deleting all the words, but it says I must have a minimum of 1 word, which won't actually result in a true deletion. What am I missing? Sorry for being dopey.

Just write deleted for the word.
