How do I contact the "room assigner?"

Post back when you can to tell us how it all worked out. Hope your Grand Gathering is magical!

Well, we’re back. And, I have to say, it went better than expected. Since some of you asked (this thread and another), here’s a room-by-room and day by day rundown on how it ended up…

First, some background. 24 people. We stayed at BWV. Four 2br and one 1br. BW honored my request to have the rooms near each other. We were all 3rd floor, standard view. They also honored my request for no HC villas.

We all arrived Sunday, November 23. The guests checked out Friday. We checked out on Saturday.

3069/71
This was ours. DH, myself, DS16, DD14. Closest room to the elevators. Also closest to the outside bellmen and delivery truck activity. It never woke us up in the middle of the night, but if we listened from bed, we could hear racks rolling and trucks beeping in reverse. THANK GOODNESS I didn’t ask to trade rooms with the senior citizens in the party (due to elevator proximity). They really would have whined about the noise. No view of Illuminations.

3103
1Br for Married DSIL, DBIL, twin daughters age 9. No room issues that I know of. Approx 20% view of Illuminations.

3105/07
DFIL & DMIL got the master. Uncle (FIL’s bro) and Aunt got second br. Single DSIL got the living room sofa bed. Approx 20% view of Illuminations.

Uncle and Aunt were supposed to leave on Tuesday am. But they surprised us all by staying til Wed. This was fine, they had the room. But it was a little bit of a downer for FIL and MIL b/c it got in the way of their ability to spend time with the kids and grandkids. (Oh, and SIL [36yo] was little dismayed that she had to spend another night on the couch.)

3111/13 (or was it 13/15?)
Younger DBIL, SIL, 2 stepdaughters (22yo & 23yo), and SIL’s dad. No room issues that I’m aware of. Approx 25% view of Illuminations.

3125/27
Older DBIL, DSIL, nephews 13 & 12, nieces 12 & 10. This room was far from the elevators and after a bend in the hallway. Therefore, no view of Illuminations. But, nice view of a little pond with animals to watch. Older BIL & SIL hate WDW so they didn’t do any Disney parks.:sad2: :sad1:

Sunday
Arrival day. Married DSIL spent the day at Sea World. The rest of us just came straight to BW, checked in, watched Eagles v Ravens @ ESPN (our teams), and settled in.
14 of us ate dinner @ Big River. It was fine, nothing stands out as exceptionally good or bad.

After dinner, we all hung out on the BW. Rode surreys, watched fireworks, did midway games. It was a perfect first night. Only regret is that I didn’t have my camera with me.

Monday
Older BIL took his family to the new water park at Sea World.
13 of us went to Universal Studios. (Love the new Simpsons ride! And Mummy was as good as ever!):thumbsup2
Senior citizens spent $75 each to wait 90 min at Soarin then see Ellen’s Energy ride @ Epcot. Then they left. Needless to say, they now consider Epcot a waste of time and money. Oh, and FIL is convinced that Fast Pass is a conspiracy in favor of wealthy early risers.

My family and Single SIL ate dinner at Emerils. Best meal of my life (and I am NOT a foodie. I consider food merely starvation prevention. For me to care about a meal is saying something.)
Saw Blue Man Group show. It was a first for SIL, but our 3rd time. We all loved it.

Tuesday
Married SIL, Older BIL, and our family went to Islands of Adventure. 14 total. Great time.
The rest of the party either hung out at the resort or visited friends in the area.
Dinner was unremarkable.

Wednesday
Uncle and Aunt left.
Older BIL took his family to Universal. (Remember, they’re the WDW haters.)
15 of us went to Magic Kingdom for most of the day. DFIL chose not to wear socks then wondered why he got blisters.:rotfl2: :sad2: Because of this, he and MIL went back to resort in mid afternoon. The rest of us went to Hollywood Studios for dinner and Tower of Terror. Lines at both parks ranged from 30 – 60 mins.

Thanksgiving
We went to Animal Kingdom with Married SIL’s family. At the last minute, Older BIL allowed his 4 kids to come along with us. (He and SIL opted out.) It was 8 kids and 4 adults. Park was crowded, but we saw most of the highlights by 2:30pm. Only missed Kali. Rode EE twice, once FP, once standby.

H and his sister had one big fight just before we left AK. They made up at dinner. :love2: Other than that, we had no family drama during the whole trip.

4:00 pm Thanksgiving dinner for 22 @ Spoodles. It was a great buffet. They gave us a kids table and a grown-ups table, just like it would have been at home.

After dinner we used the quiet pool as a backdrop for family portraits then had a spontaneous party in Older BIL’s room. That’s when DS16 spiked a fever and went straight to bed.

Friday
Since everyone else was checking out, this was supposed our quiet/private day to ourselves. But no such luck. DS’s fever was 104 when he woke. DH took him to Florida Centra Care walk-in clinic. DD and I killed time at DTD. DS was positive for strep. We rounded out the day with a movie marathon, dinner in the room, then drinks at Flying Fish for me and DH.

Saturday we were up and out without incident. I’d be happy to answer questions.

Kelley, glad you had a good time! And only one fight with that many people is really good! I am surprised you were able to get all your rooms on the same floor. We go with my sister's family every jan and almost never get the same floor. Thanks for all the details!

Call and make your group a "magical Gathering" or "grand Gathering". It does not cost anything but what they told me is that they will make sure that our multi rooms were close together. You do not have to use anyother of there deals or specials. They do offer a "grand gatherings" breakfast in MK. This is only open for the Grand Gathering groups.

This worked for us!
