We will be at OKW in a 2 bedroom in December. I just added on a few more days in a studio. I don't plan on checking out of the 2 bedroom until 11am. Should I check in as early as possible with the studio or doesn't it make any difference? Is it a "when the room is ready, it's ready" or is earlier better? Thanks!

Lisa

I'd tell them at check in that you will be moving from a 2 bedroom to a studio and ask them to note that you would appreciate getting into the studio as early as possible so that you will not be without a room for several hours. I'd also stop by the front desk on the afternnoon or evening before check out day for the 2 bedroom and repeat my request.

I don't know if it would help to check in for the studio early in the morning or not. Couldn't hurt, though.

Good luck!

As Carol mentioned, let them know at the desk.

I'd call MS and have them link the reservations so you don't even have to leave the studio portion of the 2BR (assumng you're not in a dedicated 2BR).

Let them know at check in how much you'd appreciate it if they could minimize your "homeless" time on the trip. If they have linked thereservations in lock-offs, you won't need to do any more than confirm the process.

The day before you switch, go to the desk and again remind them about being homeless and how you'd sure appreciate help minimizing that time wthout a room. Repeat this again the day of the switch. I'd actually go to the desk between 9 and 10 and ask if there was any way you could remain in the studio (again, assuming you're in a lock-off). They will try to accommodate your request.

Good Luck!

If you don't have alot of special requests for your studio - then go early (you can check in at 7:00am).

I general can get a room if I am that early.

I just called MS and I am already in a 2 bedroom dedicated. She put me on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom lock off. She said that I could probably do as Doc mentioned and just stay in the studio portion BUT I would have to get the lock off before anything could happen. We shall see! Thanks everyone for the advice. I will make sure to make the front desk aware off what we are doing.

The only difference between the lock off and the dedicated is the door in between, right? We will still have the two queens in the studio, right? Thanks again.

Lisa

yes - in the studio you will have 2 queen beds - also a under-the counter refrigerator and a mircowave and a balcony - in the dedicated I think the closet is bigger no balcony (well ours didn't)

We have done this before, and the transfer is actually quite seamless. We simply packed our belongings, went to the front desk to let them know we would be at the parks for the day, check into the new room and ask to have all belongings transferred to the new room. The front desk made all of the arrangements, and when we returned, we were checked out of our old room, the new room keys waiting at the desk, and our belongings had been moved. I was told at the time that my old room key would work until my new room was ready. For others interested, this service is also available between different WDW resorts.
