How do I add a name to a magic band?

I am getting ready to order magic bands as a gift for my friend. How do I put their names on them? I don't see anywhere to add that when I check out on Disneystore.com

Sorry but you can't customize MBs from the Disney Store. You can assign names in MDE but you can't have the name printed on the bands.

Are you thinking about the customization that you can do when you purchase the MBs with your reservation?

Only way to do it is to book a resort stay and order them through MDE.

I did that and it sent me straight to the disneystore.com...nowhere to select each band and put the right name on it.

Admittedly I have not purchased one through a resort reservation since 2021 but I don't believe it should not be redirecting you to the Disney Store website if you have a resort reservation and go into magicbands and cards and say select a magic band.

It did direct me to the disneystore, not only for these magic bands but also back when I bought one for myself under my own reservation a few weeks ago.

I was there last week so of course now I cannot look at my own resort reservation.
But did you actually go into your resort on the app and then find where you could purchase magic bands or did you simply go into the app and scroll down to the magiband section and then go under the "shop now"? Because that does redirect you to the Disney Store but maybe if you go under the resort section where it has your check in info extra it will give you the option to purchase there?

I went into WDW website, my experience, magic bands, pick my AP or hotel reservation and it brought me to this screen where you can personalize it . Also shows pre arrival discount. Never went to Disney Store website.

Edit: I'm sorry you are correct! The guests did not set up their profiles so it did direct me to the disneystore website. Once profiles were set up I got the selection of magic bands and ability to add names to them. Thank you!!!
