Possibly. But there are cabins that receive a letter to NOT be on their verandah during the fireworks.

Do people ignore them? Sure. But should there be some kind of accident, those people would not have a leg to stand on for being out there when they'd been told not to.

hehe... Thank goodness you really didn't want to know that...it would give cruising newbie a whole new meaning.

They shoot the fireworks off the top deck aft Starboard side ( I am pretty sure it is a CM area) , so I would think those cabins on certain decks would get the infamous letter warning them to NOT be on the verandah.
For example, deck 10 would most likely get a letter, but perhaps deck 5 might not?

We have never received a letter when we have stayed starboard. We had a great view of the fireworks, which has been a good thing as the top decks where the Pirate Party was made me so claustrophobic, we had to retreat back to the room! But I'm sure, as Dug mentioned above, it may depend on which stateroom you're booked in.

We were on deck 5 in January on the Fantasy (5650, 4E extended verandah) and received the letter.

Well. I would hope they would have legs still. Also, when you receive the paperwork. Do you sign it? No.

I think the "letter" might be contingent on the weather that day, if it's especially windy they might deliver the letter to staterooms that could possibly experience potential fireworks debris/sparks blowing onto their verandah during the fireworks show. I suspect in general they recommend that guests refrain from being on their verandah's during then simply to reduce the possibility of anything unthinkable happening. I know on the Magic/Wonder they block Deck 10 access to the aft part of the ship (behind the rear funnel) where they set off the fireworks from on top of the Aft Elevator Lobby structure to protect guests from injury as well. Are people going to ignore the recommendation? Sure they will, but if they issue the letter on your cruise it just cover's DCL from any liability.

Concierge one-time on Deck 11 we may have receive the letter. IMHO think it is solely due to Disney's lawyers getting involved and from the slightest risk of liability, they could always fallback on the cabin was provided notice nobody was to be on the veranda during fireworks. Pirate night fireworks puts a twist on the club and fireworks happening .

The letters are typically stbf side balconies, from roughly.midship to.aft. depends on the ship. Magic class.might be a few less but the Dream.class they use the deck over Palos plus some near the midship funnel. There's a few different reasons for the letter. One is that some guests will leave towels etc on the balcony and that could cause problems should embers be blown back at the ship. Another is that under certain circumstances there is a vacuum that is formed if balcony doors are left open. Which if there is an errant shell could cause bigger problems. Plus the whole what happens if someone is standing on the balcony if a shell goes off. It's cya. If they didn't and something happens, the first thing any half baked attorney will ask is we're you told not to.do it. No Disney's fault.

We were portside (deck 9) and received a letter. As we wouldn't have been able to see the fireworks, I don't know why, but we were up on deck 12 anyway.
