Help how do cook zucchini simply. I don't have clue on how to cook this at all.

Frying pan, dash of olive oil, and then any spices you like. I usually toss in garlic powder, salt, dash of lemon.

Really you toss in the flavors you enjoy.

Sautee in pan and done.:thumbsup2

That's how I do it. I make an Italian sautee of zuchinni, onion, green pepper, tomato, and broccoli. Heat olive oil, add minced garlic, basil, salt and pepper, then veggies (add tomatoes at the end so they don't go mushy). Cook until heated but still crisp. Add freshly grated Parmesan when serving. YUM!

Zuchinni "fries" are also very good. Cut zuchinni into long thin strips. pat strips dry with paper towels, then dredge in egg/milk mixture, followed by seasoned flour. Deep fry for a minute or so, then serve hot with Ranch dressing or creamy Horseradish dipping sauce.

Our favorites with zucchini.

Fried Zucchini Batter Recipe
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup water
1 egg

In medium mixing bowl, mix all the above until smooth. dip sliced zucchini in batter and fry in 1/2 inch hot oil till golden brown. This recipe will cover 12-15" cut in 1/3" slices.

Squash Medley
2 slices diced bacon
1 medium chopped onion
3 medium sized yellow squash, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
1 medium zucchini squash, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
2 medium tomatoes, cut into eighths
1 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1/2 t. basil leaves
1/2 t. sugar

Fry bacon in large skillet until almost crisp. Add onions, squash and tomatoes, sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring several times.

We also loved it cooked on the grill.

This is my favorite way to make it.

Grilling also works well. I spray with Butter Pam and sprinkle with some salt and Italian seasonings.

Enjoy!

I saute mine in oil and coat with Parmesan cheese. Cook until cheese is brown. NUMMY!!

I also saute it in the frying pan with olive oil and garlic. With about two minutes left i slice up a tomato to add, sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese.

I saute in very light olive oil and dill weed and if I remember a dash of lemon before serving.

Okay now what is saute? I don't have clue what saute is.

I know grilling sound easy. I might use the george forman griil for it.

Slice and cook in skillet over medium with a couple slices of butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper until soft.

Slice and coat with Italian dressing or olive oil. Grill until softer. Sprinkle with any variation of kosher salt, pepper and parmesean cheese.

I just made Zucchini pancakes and they were YUM!

But if you don't know what "saute" means, my recipe is probably too complicated:)

Saute means to heat quickly with oil over high heat. I saute my zucc. with olive oil and garlic. If you want it a little less aldante (crispy) after sauteing I add about a half a cup of chicken broth, put a lid on it,bring to a boil than simmer (turn heat way low) till the zucc is softer and has soaked up the juice. :thumbsup2

I gave you the other definitions not to be sassy I just didn't know how familiar you are with some of the other terms. Have fun :yay:

If you're in a real hurry, peel it, slice it into rounds or sticks, and eat it raw with a nice ranch veggie dip. Very good!!!

Thanks. Being from the South of these new terms is confusing from me. I was taught by old country cook on how to cook.

My dad slices it and puts it in a foil packet with yellow squash, broccoli, onion, a bit of butter (olive oil would work too) and some garlic salt. Then grills it for about five to ten minutes. Clean up is a snap.

If you have a wok or griddle for your grill, this is a great way to have zuccinni:

Heat wok to high. In a large bowl, put zuccinni cut into large bite sized pieces along with thick sweet onion slices cut into large pieces. You can also cut some yellowneck squash the same way and add it. Toss with olive oil, fresh coarsely ground pepper, some kosher salt and lots of a fresh chopped thyme. Grill and toss in the wok until dark grill marks appear-don't overcook til mushy. You can serve it as is, or even better toss with some balsamic vinegar. Yumm!

You don't saute your pancakes, do you? How rude.:) (see, the smiley doesn't help here either.)

My mom used to make it two ways:

1) Zucchini and eggs

saute zucchini and sliced onions in olive oil till tender. then add beaten eggs. add salt and pepper. eat as is or in serve a grinder roll.

2) Zucchini in tomato sauce

saute zucchini and sliced onions in olive oil till tender. add a Tbl of tomato paste and a little water. add oregano, salt, pepper. heat through. serve as a side dish.
