How do BWV NOT have USB’s in the rooms!?

The BWV refurbishment was done prior to OKW. In the OKW refurbishment they really didn’t put any USB’s in OKW rooms near the beds and OKW was refurbishment in 2018. I thought this was odd since they were very popular at that time in hotel rooms.

I just got back from a stay at Disney's Hilton Head and the phone just seemed so old and out of place. I no longer have landlines in my house. To me they are like a relic from the past.

Well, here is the current situation. Not one usb or outlet near the only bed in the 1BR. And if you and the person you are sharing a bed with wear glasses and are in a studio, it’s kind of a pain to crawl over them to get your glasses so you can see where you’re going to find your phone.

You can stick up for the DVC boardwalk rooms all you like. I do love the boardwalk, don’t get me wrong. It’s my home resort. But there comes a time when you need to face reality and admit they are outdated with simple amenities compared to many rooms out there. A yacht club room is far and above a Boardwalk studio.

I JUST checked out of a 2 bedroom lock-off at BWV on saturday, I stayed in the 1 bedroom portion while my dad stayed in the studio part of the room, and I had USB plugs in the table next to my bed. Neither my dad or I had issues plugging our stuff in, I had both my phone charger and my watch charging via USB right next to me. My dad had the same on his side, and had his c-pap machine plugged in as well. Do the rooms need updating? Heck yeah! BUT I think you were just a tad unfortunate to maybe get a room that had a replacement nightstand that didn't have the plugs, or one that was refurbed prior to them putting those in. My only issue with my room was the bathroom on the 1-bedroom side, and the ant problem I had our first night (with no food in our room, but someone hadn't cleaned up a previous stays tooth paste that the ants just LOVED). To me that's a much bigger issue than USB ports.

I totally believe you! I think it’s been 4 years since we’ve been able to charge anything conveniently at the BW, though. Lol! We just always request the same 5 or 6 BW view rooms and typically get our request, so that’s probably part of the issue.

Yeah, we had a garden view/pool view (quiet pool) because I always find there Boardwalk loud and know my dad would need to rest. I’m guessing those rooms either didn’t get them, or got them and they broke and have been replaced. I think if I stay BWV again I’ll pack one of my power strips with USB slots just in case, you never know, I wished I had it at OKW in June as well.

We travel a lot, staying in various TS and hotels, so we never know what electric outlets we’ll find. We routinely travel with 2 multiport (USB as well as regular outlets) extension cords as well as charging cords and blocks for every device we bring, including our electric toothbrush. Saves a lot of angst.
