eculmone said:Just so you all know. If you charge $10 pp it's not worth it for a non dvc member to rent considering all the hoops you have to go through and the risks involved AND you don't get the daily housekeeping service for a savings of under $300?
I think Disney is making it more reasonable for the non dvc member to book through the Disney Corp??? That doesn't seem fair to the dvc owner who needs to rent their points or loose them? God forbid the DVC member be able to rent their points out if they need to?
eculmone,
Your statement begs the question...are you comparing apples to apples? If you are comparing a studio at BCV with a room at All Star Sports, then obviously not. I've price compared a DVC studio at BCV to a standard room at Yacht or Beach Club. If you rent at $10 per point at a DVC studio you're getting a steal over a standard Beach Club room.
If you're comparing a rack rental of a 1 bdrm OKW unit through Disney Corp versus a 1 bdrm OKW unit at $10 per point from an owner, you're still getting a steal. There are no comparable units in the Disney Corp non-DVC inventory to DVC's 1, 2, or 3 bedroom villas. The only exception may be limited discounts being given to non-owners to stay at SSR in order to boost sales...but that will be a limited occurence. So are you comparing apples to apples?
