How difficult to book studios?

We always stay in studios since it is just DH and me. I've booked at 11 months, 7 months and even less than two months for 4th of July and I've never had a problem. I was on the waitlist for my BWV studio for October, but that came through in about a week.

I think the thing to remember is that busy DVC times are not necessarily busy park times.

As other posters have stated, Food and Wine, Marathon, Christmas decorations in early December are slower park times that book quickly.

I have been able to secure studios at SSR and OKW for late July/August timeframes at two to three months the last several years.

Last year I called in mid-July to make a reservation for early October. Not only was it F&W Fest, it was also Columbus Day weekend (which apparently some people actually get as a holiday- who knew? :confused3 ). Anyway, it was only 2.5 months out, all resorts except for SSR were completely sold out of studios, and I was still waitlisted for three of the days and had to assure the MS rep I spoke to that I could get an alternate hotel room for those nights, if necessary. My final night finally came through in late August. So, even at busy times, it's definitely possible, but you have to be flexible (and full of hope for pixie dust!).

if this helps any got OKW for wine/food - and the bus transportation to Epcot was excellent.

almost as good as walking from BCV. (not quiet - but almost - the walk is further to the buses from WS than BCV is)

most of the time Epcot bus service is about the same as Studios - but during food/wine they know you want Epcot - so there does seem to be more buses at OKW going to Epcot.
