How difficult is it to transfer points from one DVC interest to another? Assuming, of course, I own both interests.

Say, for example, I bought a 250 pt interest at SSR and a second 350 pt interest at Vero.

Can I book a 600 pt vacation at SSR, under my SSR interest, and transfer all of my Vero points over? (Assume all points are available for use at the time of booking)

The Vero and HH interests (via resale) are so much less expensive (low $60's per point) than the WDW-based properties (low $70's per point)...

If I am in the market for a second interest, purely for the purpose of making more points available to me during a year, why would I not want to purchase the less expensive Vero or HH?

You might want to check out those maintenance fees at Vero before you take the plunge...

then Maintenance Fees will eat up any cost savings. VB has the highest MF's of all DVC's unless you buy a contract that has subsidized MF's.

As far as transferring, I believe they keep the same UY and Home Resort so you would not have the 11 month window for all those points if booking a stay at WDW.

They would be good for the 7 month window but they are already so no advantage there.

IMHO your initial outlay will be cheaper, but your MF's will cost you more over the life of the contract.

Plus there is no guarantee that DVC will continue in its present form and our contracts only guarantee you to use your points at your Home resort so there is a risk although slight that this could change. A sale of Resorts or change of WDW ownership or DVC management could put those options into play.

I would only buy VB or HHI if that is where I wanted to stay on a regular basis.

You will not be able to bypass the 11 month reservation window with your plan. You could use the Home resort points at 11 months and the other resort points at 7 months. If you want to stay at VB a fair part of the time, it's a great resort. IF not, don't buy there, it's not worth it. You might consider buying points at OKW instead which will have a cheaper buy in than SSR and cheaper dues. It also has 3 BR GV units.
