How difficult is it to use CS during holiday weeks?

I am thinking of purchasing the dining plan although I am a little concerned about trying to use CS during week of Dec 26th. Does anyone have any experience using the plan during very busy times at Disney. Are the lines too long? This should be interesting because we never do counter service. We usually have a sitdown meal twice a day. Some of the CS don't seem so bad . As long as we can skip the burger, fries routine. I am more interested in Epcot locations for lunch. Thanks :)

We were at WDW for 2 days in 2004 prior to a cruise - Dec 30-31. We stayed at the Swan and had no trouble eating in their restaurants. Counter service at the parks was a different experience, however. I remember waiting 45 minutes in line at the Electric Umbrella in EPCOT to get breakfast. We also waited at least 30 minutes in line for Fish and Chips in England.
I was very glad we had made ADR for table service restaurants in the evenings.

My suggestion is to eat at off-peak times and be very patient. Sorry not to be more positive.

Does anyone else have more recent experience?
