My DH and I really want to dine in the castle and really would like to do a dinner. From what I have read - when I call in - I beg for a space 180 days out and as far as time let the chips fall where they may. I am hoping going for dinner would be easier. Is this a pipe dream? Any suggestions or strategies would be appreciated.

Call early, call often, be flexible, be persistent... CRT was top of my wishlist for this months trip, but I wasn't very optimistic since I didn't even book the trip until 55 days out... called wdw-dine as soon as I had my confirmation number and just asked "Do you have anything at all for CRT during our stay?" - got 8pm dinner for our first night... managed a 6:30pm BBBoutique appointment also, so as long as DD5 gets a nap we're in for a wonderful start to our trip :)

My sister got a booking for 12 in early May last month.

We got a late dinner adr at less than 45 days out. I think dinner is easier than breakfast.

I have been trying for months & have not been able to get anything. I am hoping someone cancels the closer I get to my trip.

If you are staying at WDW, start calling 190 (180 + 10) days ahead. I called New Years eve and was able to get 8:30 am on June 27th. Make sure you have your credit card ready because they actually charge the meal at the time of booking. Good luck...Hope you get to dine in the Castle.

Dinner is easier to book than breakfast.... I've always had difficulty @ 180 days 7am getting breakfast but I'm always offered dinner time slots... which I turn down since my girls want to see all the princesses....

If you want breakfast on a weekend day or during the busy seasons you need a plan. It starts with making the ADR at 180 days out. There is a calculator on the DIS if you go to the CRT information page(I believe). Start to dial the reservation service from 6:50am EST on. Don't give up. They answered me at 7:15am the first time, the second time I got in at 7:01am. If you don't get it the first day, try the second day or the third day... I read somewhere on a CRT thread that reservations aren't as hard as they used to be because WDW raised the price so much. I don't believe that for one minute. Persistence is the key. Good Luck!

As some have already stated....don't give up. There are always cancellations. I have called 2-3 times a day looking for cancellations and have always been successful.

I didn't think you could make ADR's until 180 days out? I'm just wondering where the 190 comes from. If you are staying on site, and can make them at 190 instead of 180, I'll have to change my countdown to making our ADR's.

I've easily gotten breakfast at about 160 days out, two years in a row--last year in July and this year for our upcoming August trip. It's not that hard because it's so expensive and you have to pay when you book. In the old days, it was really tough, but things have changed.

The rule is 180 days from your check in day, the 10 days come because you can then book up to 10 days of adrs, so if you are staying 10 days those adrs you make at 180 days out from your check in day are 190 days out from your last day.

Now some people start calling at 190 days out from their check in day hoping to get a CM that doesn't know exactly how the 180 + 10 days works and will let them book their adrs "early."

Took a couple tries but what various res agents told me- call early in the morning. (7am Florida time) One also said to not give up, that folks who cancel often do so 48h out, so keep checking right up to the end!

We called today and were told no seatings all day for our entire week in May. People cancel all the time though and we'll keep trying.

Friends of our decided to join us, so I had to add an impromptu CRT ressie. Got an 8:10 slot at 153 days out! The CM said it was my "lucky day!"

I don't think dinner is as hard to get as breakfast either.

Since you're staying onsite, you can make ADRs for up to 10 days at 180 days from your checkin date. BUT, if you don't get what you want for CRT, try calling back at 180 days from the date you want to eat there. Also, keep trying after that, people change their minds and cancel all the time. From the looks of your ticker, you aren't to 180 days out yet, so I think you'll be fine.

Does this apply even if you are on the deluxe dining plan? Or do they just hold your cc# in case you don't show?

We only booked our Thanksgiving Week '07 trip 90 days in advance so, of course, there were no CRT ADRs to be had! I called every day for cancellations and 6 days before our check-in date, I GOT ONE!!!!! The CM laughed at me because I thought I was going to pass out! LOL! So, persistence is the key! Don't stop calling for cancellations until the day day that you are trying to get in! Hope you get in. pixiedust:
