How Did You Meet Your S.O.?

I met Rob in 1986 right after I graduated from High School I was in no means of being in a long distance relationship. He lived in CA I lived in Oregon at that time no email or instant message was available. My best friend was his cousin. They tired everything they could to get us together but it just didn't work out. In 2000 I had not found love and I had basically given up on love. I had been to several weddings in September and October I was done. I had enough of let downs.

Until November 5th, 2000 I got a email from Rob asking if we could get to know each other this is the man who I had met in 1986 so we talked every night for until February when he flew me out to California and we spent a week getting to know each other I had already made plans to move to Utah so we talked everynight on the internet and got to know each other he came out to Utah and he told me that he loved me. And we were going to get married but not until 2002 I had planned a trip to CA in October of 2001 and we were going to get our engagement pictures done and pick out rings and stuff. But Rob had other plans he flew in on my birthday and proposed to me in August of 2001 in the time before that I was sending him hints of what kind of ring I wanted and the whole time he had been given his moms ring. We have been happily married for 7 years. sorry it's so long.

I'm not anywhere near a wedding yet either, but since you asked about S.O.'s I think I can answer! My boyfriend and I have been together for more than four years, but we're waiting a couple of years longer to get married.

Disney wasn't involved in our meeting, but I have helped with his transformation into a WDW lover! He's a Disney fan like me, but he'd never been to the World until after we'd been together for a year, and he'll be making his fourth trip this year!

We met through my best friend! She and I have been best friends since we were like three years old, and she went to high school with my boyfriend. She and her mom had been trying to introduce us for months, but the timing was never right. He was a senior and I was a junior when we met. We were both at a theater conference back in early 2005, and he was even in a show being performed at the conference. He was the male lead, and I thought he was just gorgeous! Which is funny, because he was all greased up and scraggly-looking for his role as soldier of the Civil War. But he was cute to me! My best friend was in the show too, and I asked her to introduce us. He had been single for a few months and so had I, so I thought it would be nice to meet someone new.

We officially met at dinner one night at the conference, when he asked me which song from a musical was my favorite. We both thought it was awesome that we had not only the same favorite musical, but the same favorite song! Then he offered me a high five with his hand in that Star Trek hand pose (sorry, I don't know the name of it). That's when I knew he was dork enough for me! The next day, my friend's mom forced us to exchange IM screen names but it was a couple of months before we actually started talking online. After a few weeks we started getting together in groups with our friends, and we had our first date in June 2005!

Last year our relationship became long distance when I transferred to a university in a different city. But we still get to see each other at least once a month. I consider us to be lucky since some couples get to see each other a lot less often than we do!

Well, technically DF and I "met" when he was about 40 hours old, and our bassinets were placed close to each other at the hospital :rotfl:

That story is much cuter than the real story of how we met as "adults" but... basically we met through mutual friends in high school, I even briefly dated his best friend. We sort of knew each other through other people all through high school, and then our Senior Year, we were paired up in a web-design class (we made a web page with an interactive periodic table of elements... I swear we're not nerds :rotfl2:) Our second date was Prom, and we've been together ever since.

See told you the baby story was much more interesting!!
