How did you get that low rate at MCO Hyatt?

I remember reading on here a while back about people getting really low rates at the Hyatt in the terminal through a website, anyone know the best way to secure a room there for a low price?

some people went through Hotwire and were able to get a low rate of something like $52.... I was too chicken to try it because when I looked it up, I didn't want to take the chance of getting something out of the airport. But I still got a decent price going through their website.

Barb & Tony use priceline and usually get the Marriott for $28+. It's not far from the airport.

Good luck!

I got our room for next June on Hotwire for 24.00 + tax (33.95). Booked it on Nov. 12, so it does pay to keep checking the website.

I think the way to tell it's the Hyatt via Hotwire is that it is at a high star level, but with no shuttle listed.
Priceline is great, too, even though the hotels are offsite. We have paid as low as $25, although $28 is the norm. If you use it, just be sure to bid the highest star level!

It was late one night, when someone posted that they got the MCO Hyatt for $2 throught Hotwire.com. A bunch of us went in and were able to get rooms. I got in for $25 per room-2 rooms for 2/13/04.

It's not always there. The deal was gone the next day.

Using Priceline, you can almost always get airport area rooms in the 3* category for less than $30. The only downside is that you don't know exactly which hotel you will get when you bid. Start bidding at about $25 if you have enough time and enough "free re-bids." To learn about Priceline bidding, check out www.biddingfortravel.com. They have lists of the hotels that Priceline uses in each category, as well as reviews of many of the hotels. Most of the hotels in the airport area have free shuttles.

I can personally attest that three of the highest star level hotels near MCO via Priceline are the Marriott (one I get most frequently), the Renaissance (got it a few times), and the Holiday Inn Select (got it once). I used to bid one level lower and either got a LaQuinta, one of the suites hotels, or got upgraded to the Marriott. But there are two LaQuintas...one is fine and the other is a hovel. After being at the hovel a couple of times, I started bidding the top star level only and have never had a problem getting a room.

In the 3* category, Priceline also uses the airport Hyatt and Sheraton.

I'll echo the post about one of the La Quintas being a disaster, but they are a lower rating level. As long as you request the 3*, you will get a decent place. However, if it matters to you WHICH place you get, don't use Priceline.

The "trick" to getting free re-bids is to add an area that doesn't include 3* hotels. Currently there are several areas, like Kissemmee, where Priceline doesn't have any 3*s. Of course, this could change any time, but for now, it gives you a way around their 72 hour rule. You have to change something besides your price to re-bid in under 72 yours--like your area or star rating. If you add an area that doesn't have the star rating you are requesting, you will stay within the original area. Of course, if you start far enough ahead, you can re-bid every 72 hours as needed. Be aware that Priceline's inventory and prices can change every day. You're never sure if you got the "best" rate, but you can always get something much better than even internet specials.

That's is a great tip, Kathryn!
I had been getting around it by having two profiles set up with different email addresses and charge cards, but that method sounds so much more convenient.

I just checked hotwire. They have a 3.5 star hotel for 59$ with only amenities of rest, pool, and fitness, no shuttle serv. You think this is the HYATT mco? I guess the way it works is you dont know the hotel until you book huh?

The way to find free rebids is to select only one area at a time on Priceline and click continue. The star ratings will be shown. Write everything down, then go back. Deselect that area and pick a new one. Make a note of every area in the city you are bidding in. Then you will find your free rebids. If you give up on, say, a 3 * and decide to start trying for a 2 1/2, start over with a completely new bid. Otherwise the areas you used as free rebids might come up in the new star level. It is all explained the biddingfortravel.com FAQ for hotel bidding. They get a little irate over there if you ask for help without understanding that procedure.

I am trying to book with Hotwire right now in hopes of going to the Hyatt. The one I am looking at is three and a half stars and lists a pool, fitness room, and restaraunts. Would that be the one? There is also no shuttle listed.

I asked the same question before and was told that it should be Sheraton Suite. Hyaatt whould have these amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Bussiness Center, Tennis.

To get more info about what amenties the hotels have at hotwire, you can also vsiit the following site http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?act=ST&f=207&t=67&s=
