Just curious and I love to hear about other people's experiences at FW, so I'll start--

When we planned our (first in several years) trip to WDW in '93, we (my sister and I) did lots of research. We needed a room for 5 for sure, and couldn't get her husband to commit to go (or not) until the last minute so knew we might need room for 6. We knew that if it ended up being just the two of us and her 3 kids we wanted to stay on site for a feeling of security. Well, for 5 we could do DXL, but 6 left only a couple of choices. And FW was the cheapest, so we gave it a shot. The rest, as they say, is history! We loved it (her husband didn't go until the third trip to FW)! We have now gotten a MH--that camping lifestyle is addictive--and we go as often as possible. Can't imagine staying at any other resort!

So how did you 'discover' the magic of FW?

just back and 330 days to go
and really wishing I could have done the FW parade today and see Sorcery in the Sky tonight!:(

I discovered FW by coming here. I had never heard of the place before reading about it here. It was such a memorable experience and DS and I will never forget it!

I went with a friends' family in high school. They went to WDW every 2 years, but my family had never been because my parents don't like amusement parks and that's what we thought WDW was. Well, after I went with my friend, I was hooked to WDW and FW. My friend was one of 4 girls, so with her parents, there were 7 of us in one pop-up. It was crowded, but I loved it.

The main reason DH and I bought a pop-up is so we can go to FW! ;)

Last year all of the elements came together(....we were finally not struggling for every car payment.....our son was 5......we wanted to create some childhood vacation memories for him) and we decided to take our first trip to Disney as a family. I had been there only once before, over 20 years ago (before epcot) and wanted desperately to give/share with my son the wonderful feelings and memories i had from my trip to Disney so long ago.

I wasn't sure the DH would be into it thought, so after talking to some friends, i decided that the Hoop Tee Doo on our first night would get him in the Disney spirit. Well it certainly did, and after the show we toured the campground. We were captivated!!! He not only vowed that this was the best vacation ever (and this was only the first afternoon! We hadn't even been to a park yet!), but that we had to return next year and camp here!

Well, we purchased a pop up and are returning at exactly the same time this year for our first FW trip.

A friend I grew up with went every couple of years with her family and it sounded so cool. I was very jealous and finally made it there when I was twenty. Then I said when I "grew up" I wanted to vacation there with my own family and that's exactly what we do!! It has never lost it's charm for me.:p

We dicovered it while in college way back in 1976. We were staying at the Jellystone camground right outside of WDW off Rt. I 4. We were talking to some other campers who said that "this 'place' sure beats the price of Disney's campground !" We didn't even know Disney had a campground until they made that statement. Well the next day we went over to FW to see if they had a site for us....and they did ! So, we went back to Jellystone to get our things and check out. The rest is history, as you can see by my signature.

It sure has changed over those years though. No more train, more cabins, and I miss the trams !!!

The First time I went to Disney I stayed at Yacht and Beach CLub,which was wonderful. But my sister in law had been trying to get me to go to FW for 8 yrs,but I never wanted to go until after my first trip,so 8 months after my first trip I went back and stayed at the Wilderness homes, needless to say I have stayed there for the past ten years and I love it. My kids always want to go back there instead of trying someplace different.

On our very first trip - about 13 years ago, we stayed offsite, but went to the character breakfast that they used to have in Pioneer Hall. While we were there, we wandered around and fell in love with FW! We swore that we would stay there on our next trip - and we did! And the next trip, and the next trip, and the next trip.........:D

We stayed at FW last year in a cabin and now have ressie's to go Turkey day 2002 for a week and are already looking forward to it!

We will spend some time in the campground this time as last we were so worned down each day from going, going, going.

May try and do the horse ride or mouse boats.

Am looking forward.
