How did you choose your VMK name?

Well... I was originally cousinbb in VMK because bb is my nickname and I have over 45 cousins and I thought it sounded good together. But vmk made me change my title so now i'm LGMH. Alot of people are always asking what it stands for, Lime Green Mickey Head. If you look at some of the other parts of the Dis board there will be members talking about going to Home Depot to "steal" these Lime Mickey Head paint samples. Some of the stories are actually pretty funny. Anyways.... that's how i got my vmk title,

Well, if Peri wants to know, I will tell all I actually thought I had already posted to this thread; but this turns out to be a new one.

When I joined VMK in Beta they did not like any name I put it. I was getting frustrated and got up to start dinner. Pulled some coriander out of the veggie drawer and thought, "Hmm, take that VMK" - and they did!

BTW - Out thought for the longest time that my name was "Colandar"

When I first signed up for VMK (mid Beta) they would either approve titles or not in a couple of days. After almost 2 weeks and 5 rejections I was getting a little upset with VMK. When I got my fifth rejection message, could not think of a new title to use, and noticed that I was pretty upset I thought "What am I, out of my mind to be upset about this". As soon as I thought it I typed OutOfMyMind in and got the approval the next day.

My Mind family came about after I met LostMind in Central Plaza one evening and thought I would like a Mind Family. Thus SheOutofMind, PieceOfMind, AbsentMind, AWayOfMind, GoneFromMind, StateOfMind, and LostMyMind were created.

If anybody has spent any time with my close VMK friends they will notice that talk usually comes around to food. It was very nice when we could say any title in VMK without a red flag. Once this was disallowed I decided to create my food clones, so I would always have food to talk about. Thus briecheese, chickenfriedsteak, chickennoodlesoup, CrepeSuzette, EggsBenedict, Escargot, FunnelCakes, macandcheeses, meatstew, porterhousesteak, potroast, QuicheLorraine, tapiochapudding, vealmilanese, and ZebraDomes were created.

my name on vmk is a guest but i typed toucanchipz as my name. i hope it gets through. i just chose toucans because i was watching the show 'my gym partner's a monkey' with my kids and i ust thought the toucan was so funny. and then in the 6th grade everyone called me 'Chip'. so i put them together and named myself toucanchipz (this should clearify that i do not like froot loops commercials. lol)

Admittedly I have always had a thing for black clothes, dark music and hair dye on the wrong side of normal but now that I am “ancient” I can’t say I feel any great need for a label, nor much of an aversion to one being applied

I had been waiting for VMK to open since Christmas of 2005 having read about it in some online geek news.. BoingBoing.. Digg? VMK was late.. A sign of things to come

I guess I always thought I would sign up as Taryn like on the DIS or something dark and freaky but when I got into VMK that very first day I was like.. Am I crazy? I have got to be the only grown up signing into this thing! Ah ha.. let’s fit in with the spooky kids.. They’ll never notice.. I’ll start off with a little self deprecating humor and call myself a DoomCookie and wow.. a Haunted Mansion reference to boot! * bounce*

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined tripping down Main Street for real with VMK friends and answering to Cookie with a straight face lol

Much to my dis-may at first, my first grandchild (CLRandomKnight) named me Mamie. The name totally fits now. We went to Disneyland in July '05. My daughter (dvcgal) had heard of vmk but didn't know much about it. We took a tour and did a quest. We made our character there. I didn't know what to put down for a title. My grandkids, (RandomKnight and Twinkieb) said D for (the) Mamie. At first I only played if the kids were on. I didn't wonder out of my room much. Sadly the grandkids don't play anymore. I have made so many wonderful friends on vmk. I am so happy I got started playing.

NeonSunrise - I got tired of trying to get a name approved, so I picked some basic words I saw on other characters and put them together.

PrincessMalficent - Maleficent is my favorite character (next to Mickey of course)..well, since VMK will not allow you to use real Disney character names, malficent was as close as I could get.

How funny, I didn't even know it was a real word

It sounds like a lot of people get frustrated trying to name their characters. After I lost Eddiesgal I couldn't think of a name. I went searching on Disney's fairy site where they have a random name generator that seemed a little less 'off the wall' than VMK's names. I came across "sparkle" and then Lady just seemed to go with it.

My husband used to always answer our business phone "This is Ed with Sparkle *****" One of our clients introduced him one time to someone and said this is Ed Sparkle, isn't that a great name to have in his line of business? DH didn't want to embarass the lady by correcting her, so for quite a while she thought our last name was Sparkle
