How did you and your +1 meet?

Hubby and I met in the Air Force. I'm a bit older than he is (six years), so I was an NCO, he was an airman. The base had 3 clubs--an airman's club, an NCO club, and of course, the officer's club.

They always had country music at the NCO club, which I'm not a fan of. The airman's club, on the other hand, always had rock--this was late 1983. So I snuck into the airman's club, and when they turned the lights on for last call, I looked up, and there he was, staring at me. He was with another girl, so nothing happened that night, but he'll tell you he knew at that moment that he was looking at the person he was going to marry.

Naturally, I went back the next weekend--how could I not, after that connection? He was there looking for me too, and in July of 1984 we were married, had sons in 86, 87, and 91 and now we're back to just us again.

The next part of the journey.....

Back in 2004 the local paper here did a story on us, they were looking for how people met stories for Valentine's day. We have a friend that works for the paper and they came to her asking if she new a gay or lesbian couple that would be in the paper. She said "I know the perfect couple". The story is still available online if you want to read it. The timeline is a little off and I was not that bad of a soccer player. :lmao: Here's the link http://www.sptimes.com/2004/02/10/Floridian/Can_t_hurry_love.shtml

Awww... that's beautiful, thank you for sharing.

I met SO on the DIS boards!!

I was resigned to not meeting anyone because I do not go out anywhere where I would meet another gay guy...and even then I am a wallflower. Aside from that I have NO gaydar so even if someone available (and interested) was talking with me I would have no clue.
He sent me a private message form the DIS and we started talking a lot...every day in fact and I flew the 3000 miles out to see him. We have had a few Disney trips and he has flown out here to see me but we are yet to live together (though we are committed). That will come as soon as the employment situation gets taken care of. It is hard to just transfer coast to coast.
Hi sweetie!!!! :)

Could that be the Bethlehem BrewWorks? Great place!! (I'm in SW Allentown)

I met my DP through one of the on-line social networks. OK, gay.com! We chatted about a month before our first date. After dating about a year he sold his house and moved in with me. That was 5 1/2 yrs ago.

Why yes! It was!!! I work all over the LV....I'm a visiting nurse, so I may have even passed your house one day!

I've already told this story on these boards, but I'm willing to share it again:

In 2003 we did a family trip in March to celebrate Mom & Dad's 35th wedding anniversary. It was them, me, my brother and his girlfriend and my sister with her fiance. We had a great trip, but I was definitley feeling like the "odd man out" because I was the only one not coupled up. After dropping the rest of the fam off at the airport, I had a lot of time before my late flight and I'd recently upgraded my ticket to an Annual Pass so I headed back to the Magic Kingdom. It was a really relaxing day where I just wandered around and soaked up the magic. Just as I was about to leave the park, I was leaving Fantasyland to head down Mainstreet and out. I passed Cinderella's wishing well and though "well it worked for Snow White . . ." wished for Prince Charming and then walked out of the park.

In June of 2003 after all of the people that were supposed to join me for my first ever Gay Days trip cancelled on my, I joined in the chat room on gayday.com and met a great group of people and arranged to meet them to tour the parks.

Upon arrival at my resort (the Carribean Beach) parking lot on my way to check in, the first person I ran into was someone I recognized as a fellow gayday.com chatter. I said hello, and realized he was on his cell phone. I apologized and went on my way.

Later that night, at Pleasure Island, at the "gayday.com mixer" at 8-trax, that guy came over and apologized for not being able to meet me properly at the resort. His name was Scott. Since we were staying at the same resort, we agreed to meet for breakfast the next morning before heading out to meet everyone else at Animal Kingdom.

The next morning, I sat across from the most beautiful blue eyes I'd ever seen and was dazzled by the most brilliant smile in the world and I thought "wow. I didn't think I believed in love at first site".

You know the rest. We moved here from Dallas and Los Angeles to be together, we adopted Tolliver, we had our Big Fat Gay Disney Wedding at the Adventurers Club, we're living happily ever after.

But that's how it started. With a wish for Prince Charming in a wishing well as I left Disney World. And Prince Charming was there waiting in the parking lot the next time I went back.

We messaged and met a few days later. I was only interested in a casual bff...probably more of a friends with bennefits deal. After a couple months we got more serious.

There have been ups and downs like any couple but I love him to death, more than ::gasp:: even Disney. 5 years sept 18th!

Ummm.....I moved back in with an ex and the 2 of them were (to put it nicely) dating. OOPs.:littleangel: It took a few years for my ex to talk to me again but now everyone is all happy. That was 15 years ago in 23 days.

My sig and I met at a gay bar in Little Rock, which is so cliche, ain't it? It's even stranger since we're both SO NOT the bar type (No, really!). He was moving, and this was his last night in town. He came out to meet some friends for one last drink. I was there after a long hiatus.

Anyway, mutual friends introduced us, and we immediately clicked. After a bit of a long distance relationship (me in AR, him in Dallas), we finally started cohabitating in June of 1996. It's been 14 years.

My partner and I met in an online chat room way back in 2000. Our first "date" was at Steak & Shake to meet and then watch the parade of crazies come through the restaurant (It's the one on Hwy 50 & Hiawassee Blvd in Orlando - Best part was watching a drunk woman bash in her BF's windshield with a rock while screaming at him). So it was 10 years for us in July.

So romantic!!! I love it!!:rotfl:

Hmmm, mines a sordid tale, but I'm going to leave out most of the details. LOL

My partner and I met online actually. Needless to say, we didn't expect this to happen but when he left, I knew I was crazy about this guy and couldn't stand the fact that he had to leave to go home. Hit me like a tons of bricks. Little did I know, he was feeling the same way. Love at first sight? Who knows. Sure felt that way.

Been together 3.5 years now and still feel the same way now, if not more, as the first day I met him.

At a dance club.
It was Easter - I had on a T-shirt with a naughty saying about rabbits- and a stuffed bunny peaking
out of my back pocket of my Jeans - Was dancing on a riser with a friend -
Paul saw me on the video screen and said -"I gotta meet that guy".
We had instant chemistry and have been together since that day.

"Instant Chemisty" roughly translates to "Wally drugged him and kept him brainwashed until they were married", doesn't it?

I'm guessing you didn't tell him that you're the spawn of the devil that first night because you thought he might run in terror . . .

:rotfl2:

Love you, Wally!

Not much running that first night -
more horizontal endeavors!

I was on an extended vacation, Vegas for a few days, then Boston....

On the flight from Vegas to Boston, at a layover in O'Hare I freaked out! I HAD TO GO HOME! Complete panic attack, never had one before or again. Once I got to Boston I managed to book the next flight out back to Orlando the next morning.

Once I got home I went to the beach, treated myself to a nice dinner, then hit a club...The Full Moon. He was sitting there, and my opening line....I kid you not...was "Hey, I like em big and stupid" :rotfl2:

The next night we had dinner at the California Grill, and as the food hit the table the Fireworks went off over the Castle.

The rest as they say...is history....

It's been 15 years now!

What did your shirt say? Or can't it be printed here?

I said I like to do "stuff" the way bunnies like to do it-
Just in with more colorful language.

Subtlety is my best feature! :upsidedow
