How did you meet your +1, how long have you been together? Thread??????

Ok.....

go!

I was 15 the first time I laid eyes on James. He was a friend of my older brother and they played in a band together. I begged and cajoled my brother to take me along to band practice....and when he finally did there was James with a beautiful Oregonian girl he'd met at college  I had to wait 4 years for them to break up!

He's mine now :cloud9:

We've been married 27 years!

How about you Star??? What's your story?

Met online, cooked him dinner on our first date. Been together ever since. It will be 3 years this November!

One night I went to buy Hostess cupcakes at the grocery store. Future DH was a supervisor, so I asked about getting a part time job there (I already had a full time job). He was RUDE to me. The store manager was delightful and hired me to work the 8 PM - Midnight shift on the days that I finished my other job at 6 PM.

DH and I started dating in December 1990, and we got married November 1992. I quit the grocery store after about 6 months, and DH transferred to several other locations over the years before he went to work for a vendor.

Funny, DH bumped into the old store manager a couple of weeks ago when one of his accounts was having a remodel. I mentioned it on FaceBook. The best man from our wedding commented, because he used to work there, too. Then 2 other guys we used to work with commented on the best man's status. One of them was a groomsman in our wedding but we had lost touch with him. Now he is one of my FB friends, and we are hoping to get our families together soon. His stepson is leaving for college to major in Musical Theater, so we have a lot in common! :goodvibes

DH and I met online at match.com

We starting 'talking' to each other online in Nov 02. We met in real life the weekend before Xmas at a mall. (I come to find out, DH hates the mall, I mean HATES it) We just walked around the mall, he didn't even buy me dinner!

He says now, he never expected me to call back, that he thought he wasn't my type. Actually, he's right, he is not the typical guy I would go for.....

Over Xmas I spent time at my mom's in NY and around NYE we were talking on aol IM and he asked for another date...he would come up to me. I lived in Bethlehem, he lived in Philly, about an hour and a half distance. I said yes and we went to dinner at a local brewery. We alternated dates for awhile like this.

Flash forward to April of 03.....I had a bun in the oven!!!!!!!!!!! He moved in with me after we discussed if he would sell his home or if I should sell mine. Baby came Dec 03. Over V-tines day he took me out and asked me to marry him (actaully asked me to 'take his and Cody's name'). He had asked when I was 1st preggo, but I told him I wasn't gonig to marry someone just cause they got me preggo. We started planning the wedding and in June 04 I was preggo again!!!! We kept the wedding as scheduled, June 05. I had baby #2 Late Feb and had just a few months to loose the weight (which I did, but sadly now I ahve gained it all back, plus some).

So we have been married for 5 years, together for 7, but both our boys were present at the wedding, in baby tuxes!

Women's chorus in 1994. She was new in town. She was dating another chorus member. I thought she was cute, she thought I was intense and annoying. She and her GF broke up a few months later and we started talking. Our first date was Christmas Eve 1994, we moved in together in March of 1995 and got married in a ceremony (back in the day when they were still called "Union" ceremonies) at a local park in May of 1996. Several animals and 2 kids later here we are.

I met my husband online... by accident! We just came acorss eachother and that was in July 2005. We have not stopped talking since that day!

We have been together ever since (5+ yrs) and we were married this past January in turks and caicos!!!

OH! I forgot to mention.. it was LONG distance for 3 of those years.. Connecticut to Utah..east coast (me) meets west coast (him)!

We met online, through a mutual friend. After 4 months of reading her daily blog, I finally got the courage to message her and tell her how much I loved her blog. 1 month later she was driving 1400 miles to meet me. We did the long distance thing for a year until she moved out here. That was 4 years ago, we marry in Oct. Life is very very good. Thank you Myspace!

OK...I'll play along b/c I really do have a "one time, at band camp..." story!
I was a Sophomore at UGA and knew a friend of mine was getting a new roommate so, being the polite southern belle that I am (HA!) I asked him about said incoming roommate. He told me a little bit about him and I went on my way.
A few days later-at band camp-I saw who I thought was the new roomie. During a 30 second break I ran from my spot to his and said "are you Patrick?" He said "yeeeesss..." and looked very confused. I thanked him and ran back to my spot.
Later that night-at a...yes, band party...I told my friend I thought his roommate was cute. He burst my bubble by informing me Pat had a girlfriend in Mississippi. Oh well...c'est la vive (yeah, I know I can't spell)
A week or so later my friend's girlfriend (who I had a mutual hate-hate relationship with) told Pat I thought he was cute in an attempt to embarass me. Little did she know that Pat and said Mississippi girlfriend were nearly a done thing...he asked me out...18 years later we are married and they are divorced.
Oh, and I can literally say..."One time, at band camp...I got pregnant!" OOPS! Her name is Victoria, she is 16, and she is the joy of my life (besides my DH and other 2 kiddos)

Hubby and I met in Dec '96... I was meeting my friend for dinner as his unit worked late on Thursdays. The usual day staff worked part of the day in the afternoon; got a 2 or 3 hour break for dinner/family time then returned in the evening to work with part time unit members... anyways I digress, I went to meet my friend during his break time and he told me that this other guy asked what was up for dinner and if he could join us... my friend said sure to meet us at x-time at the restaurant. Anyways I thought this guy was odd/strange/warped (things I love about him now but raised my brow then), friendly and all, but just one of those people that I thought I'd never see again and he was out of my mind 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant...

Anyways a few days later he contacted me; guess my friend gave my number, to tell me of some unit Christmas party which in the end got canceled... And yet again after I was told about the cancellation I didn't think of him... ((LOL you can tell he made an impression right? lol)). A month or so rolled by and we are now into the new year and we started to write the odd email back and forth then started to chat on ICQ... oh the days of ICQ and we decided to go and see a movie. I thought he was more friends seeing a movie, he thought it was a date. What move to see... oh wait for it... he let me chose the move... what did I chose?....

....

The People vs. Larry Flint!

Awesome movie for what turned out to be a first date, right? ((No ideas Wally! We each went to our separate homes after)) :lmao: We laugh about all of this now, his friends tease me and wonder how I tamed him as they never thought they'd see him settle down. So we started to date in '97 and got married in '05. Guess one can say we matured together -- or let me rephrase, I matured he's still that odd/warped kid at heart.

I met my ex through friends. They'd known us for a while and introduced us.

I'm hoping to meet my future ex soon. :cool1:

I met my SO in 2002 when I was out at the club with my ex, who I was still friends with. My ex ended up leaving the club with him and they quickly got together. My future SO and I quickly became friends and would often get together and vent about our current relationships. I was in a relationship with an a**hole also. Well, they broke up a few months after I ended my relationship and we made plans to hang out at a club just the two of us and it was a very drunken night. He told me his feelings for me and BAM. 7 LOOOOOONG years later, still together.

Our trip to WWOHP is this Saturday! He has never been to Orlando, I have been once in 1994 when I was a freshman in highschool. We are so excited!!:cheer2:

...and we went to dinner at a local brewery.

Could that be the Bethlehem BrewWorks? Great place!! (I'm in SW Allentown)

I met my DP through one of the on-line social networks. OK, gay.com! We chatted about a month before our first date. After dating about a year he sold his house and moved in with me. That was 5 1/2 yrs ago.

My DP and I met the summer of '81, it was at soccer pratice for the HS team we were both Freshman. We were friends and teammates throughout high school. After high school we hung out a few times but then lost touch.

We did not have a 10 year hight school reunion, so she decided she wanted to get some people together that she wanted to see. I was living in Melbourne, FL at the time, and was still in our hometown in NJ. She got in touch with me through one of our friends. Her mini reunion was Christmas of '95 about around the sametime I started coming out. We remained in touch and saw each other a few times after that. For some reason I could not tell her about me. Then one day I get a letter from her telling me that she was in therapy and that someday she hoped she'd be able to tell me why. I knew right away and sat down and wrote her a letter about me and my coming out story. As soon as she got the letter she called me excited and told me her story.

I moved back to NJ December of '97 and moved in with her March of '98, just as friends ;). We've been together 12 years and just adopted our daughter this past October.

Back in 2004 the local paper here did a story on us, they were looking for how people met stories for Valentine's day. We have a friend that works for the paper and they came to her asking if she new a gay or lesbian couple that would be in the paper. She said "I know the perfect couple". The story is still available online if you want to read it. The timeline is a little off and I was not that bad of a soccer player. :lmao: Here's the link http://www.sptimes.com/2004/02/10/Floridian/Can_t_hurry_love.shtml
