How cute...my first (poorly timed) glitch!

Can you rent out your points? I know it's a royal PITA but at least Disney wouldn't be getting your money.

I am just so frustrated and disappointed. I hate to say it, but more and more, I am learning to HATE what Disney World is becoming under this leadership.

I was thinking about doing that too.

And yes, this new and "improved" park is a disaster and leaves me longing for Universal. 12 years ago my husband and I had a lousy time at Universal topped off with finding a bunch of crushed Hydrox cookies in our bed at Hard Rock Hotel! I never thought Universal could redeem itself after that bad experience but let me tell you, Harry Potter and Portofino Bay? Goes quite a long way towards making up for it.

I swear the movie Wreck-It-Ralph and the character Vanelope Von Schweets (the glitch) were all carefully crafted marketing strategies to make glitches seem adorable. I'm only kidding a little.

What gets me was having to be up at midnight (then resetting the alarm for 1am when the window didn't open at midnight) in order to get the mine train (or A&E if that's your thing). ALL FP+ did (which I said waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the beginning) was shift the rope drop stampede from 9am on the day the park opens IN the park, to 12am 60 days before the park opens at your house on your computer.

Oh? Some people thought it wasn't fair to have to be there at park opening when they want to sleep in on their vacation? Well how about just wanting to SLEEP AT NIGHT like a normal human 60 days before your vacation instead of having to get up in the middle of the night!

The early bird still gets the worm...just has to be WAAAAAY earlier, tech savvy, and pray the system doesn't crash and screw you.

I tried to stay up with you to keep you company last night. :)

That is just wrong I tell you, WRONG. No trip should require you to stay up late to start making attraction reservations 60 days out. Crazy.

I agree, I don't like scheduling my whole day already.

But, it's the new normal, so I'm having a fast pass party. Like I said, took the day off so I can sleep in, wine, late night food, my boyfriend and anyone else who wants to hang out on a Thursday night/Friday morning while I yell at the computer. :rotfl:

I would actually do it in a bar if I thought it feasible...

Yeah. And think if poor off-siters. Don't they have to get up each night 30-days out? Or no?

They CAN do that, or they can wait until (for example) 24 days out and make 6 days worth of FP+ all at once.

Any feedback on how this effects ability to capture FP+s for, say, Soarin', TSMM, etc?

Obviously it's much better for sleeping. :)

We are a relatively small group here on the Dis Boards compared to the number of people who actually visit WDW at any given time.
My DD and I were wondering how do all the people who are not aware of all this hyper, although very necessary, planning make out. :confused3

Karen :)

That is a great question.

I wonder how many show up clueless at the gates without a clue?

I'm more interested to know who in their right mind accepts what Disney gives them for their initial FP+ times. And what on Earth does Disney use to determine which of those out-of-left-field ABC selections is YOUR "best option"? Dsney knows nothing of my plans for the day...how do they know which is my best option?? Even more crazy is who would just let Disney give them whatever selections as a "Fast Pick"??

Exactly.
Actually, if I had a friend who was going to WDW for the first time I think I would have a hard time trying to teach/explain all the needed info. Such as creating an account on MDE, the MBs, FP+, 60 days/30 days out, staying up till midnight or 1a.m. on your day to book, etc, etc.
I have a fair knowledge of this and I have bookmarked the tutorial on You Tube on how to book your FP+ attractions and plan to watch it prior to booking :coffee:
I told my DD its like you have to take a course to learn how to book your vacation!! :sad2:

Can you link to the youtube video here?

I have to say that I had no idea the band was going to be this much of a hassle. I'm starting to get nervous.

Hi Toadlover,
I dont know how to link you to the tutorial video but I can tell you exactly where to find the link to it, so here goes.........
On this forum (Theme Park Attractions and Strategies) look for the thread "FastPass + Basic Info, Attraction List and Suggested Priorities", (right now that thread is on pg 4 of this forum). When you find that thread go to page 179, post #2671, and there you will find the link to the tutorial video.

Pheeewwww, good luck :thumbsup2
As I said in a previous post, someone should offer a course in how to plan your Disney vacation. This is like a part time job :worried: And if I didn't already have a full time job I'm sure it would become my full time job!

There are sooo many of us in this boat. Michael Eisner where are you now??????:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm thinking of creating a drinking game...everytime MDE screws up, you drink. I log in periodically throughout the day just for giggles at this point. Today it is "having trouble locating my FP+ reservations".

SHOT!
