How crowded will it be for evening extra magic hours?

I am thinking of changing our days for EP and MK and going when the parks have evening extra magic hours (both 9pm to 11pm) on 8/30 and 8/31. Does anyone know if the rides will be real slow at this time? We have never done extra magic hours and am thinking of trying them now that my youngest is
7 years old. Will the rides have low waits towards the end of the night?

11:00 isn't that late for an EMH, so the crowds won't thin out as much as they would for a later one. You'll have more luck at MK than EP since there is more open there. Can you do just MK or if you switch things around, do you have to do both? Also remember, the later you stay out, the harder it is to get up the next morning for rope drop, so p;an accordingly.

Earlier this week, we did FEA and Soarin during EPCOT EMH
(We got in the FEA line 2 min before Illuminations ended. It was a 35 minute actual wait despite the 75 min posted time, after the Illuminations crowd entered, I imagine 75 became closer)
I think EMH at EPCOT and DHS are quite helpful due to the Tier 1 restrictions at each park.

MK on the other hand...I've never seen so many people walking between Little Mermaid and Gaston's as the beginning of this week's EMH. It's generally decent the last 45 min of EMH, but it's fustrating before then.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I agree, 11 isn't that late, so most people will probably be staying until the bitter end:rotfl:

The only time I've ever found EMH worthwhile is when I park hop to the park specifically for EMH hours as soon as they start. Even then it's more crowded for that first hour as they work at filtering everyone out. So many people love the perk, but for me, it's generally not worth it.

On most of our trips, we didn't spring for park hopping. We usually chose the evening EMH park because we aren't rope drop people.

Other than one especially busy day at DHS, we had great experiences with it. And most of those trips, like yours, were in late August.

The MK would show the MSEP twice. We'd watch Celebrate the Magic at the hub, see Wishes, then get a snack and make our way toward the exit to see MSEP.

At Epcot, lines for Soarin were big, but everything else was a walk on.

At the Studios, they normally show Fantasmic twice on EMH nights.

I think evening EMH is the best thing since sliced bread, but I am not your average DISer. We don't do rope drop or park hop. We don't take afternoon swim breaks. We leave for the park of the day late morning and stay till we drop or get kicked out.
