How crowded will it be Dec 5-13?

We are planning a birthday trip in December 5-13. Pop Warner week is Dec 3-9. I am wondering how crowded it will be that week? It seems like it is still light crowds at the parks. We will be staying in a DVC so I'm not worried about kids at the resort so much. Has anyone been at WDW during Pop Warner week before? Was it bad? I like to going in September, but my DM says it's too hot.

We went 3 months ago during that same week. It was more crowded than January or February--but not nearly as brutal as the week before Easter. And it was more than worth it with the decorations up. Also for some reason priority seating was pretty filled up. We started calling for PS about 6 weeks before the trip--and there were some restaurants we couldn't arrange.

Another way to tell how crowded it was was the holding of spots for Illuminations. We usually go to the same place and in less crowded times we can usually find a spot around 20 to 30 minutes before 9. It was about 45 minutes in December.

I'm sure you know about it, but Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was loads of fun. We watched the special fireworks from Main St where the stores stop. Midway through the show we turned around and Mary Poppins and Bert were standing right behind us. Everyone's mouths dropped open.

And the parade... Wow. It went on and on.

I will be there Dec 3-10 celebrating my birthday. I have read it is a great time to go . I can hardly wait .

What days are your birthdays? I'll be there Dec. 5-11 celebrating my birthday on the 8th. We've gone several times during this time frame; it's great! Even with the Pop Warner folks there the first part of the trip, the parks are still much less crowded than during busy seasons. Add to that the holiday decorations, shows, MVMCP, etc. etc., and it's our favorite time to visit.

We will be there Dec. 7 - 16.....DS' 5th birthday is on the 8th as well!

I was there this past December from the 1st through the 10th. The only other time I have been was in October of 2004. It was significantly more crowded in December. I was actually suprised at the crowds because I had read in so many places how low the crowds were. The only place the crowds really affected was at the MK. We were there on Monday, December 4th and the line for Splash was 50 min, Space was 60, Peter Pan was 60 and Buzz was 30. Most FastPasses were gone in the early afternon. We were happy we did all of these things at MVMCP where there were no lines! The weather was also cool.

It was still a fun trip, but I would rather go back in October.

Thanks everyone. I feel that week will be the best for us. We will definitely be at MVMCP. I can't wait to see all the holiday decorations. What a magical moment to see Mary Poppins and Bert! DM is turning 60 !!
