Well, after trying to decide what to do, I think I've made up my mind. We are going to cancel our summer trip, and now use points for our Feb trip, if we can and pay cash for our Nov 03 cruise. It just seems to be a better value, but now for my question... What do you think the odds of me getting a one bedroom for Feb 12 - Feb 18 are?? I'm not pickey on the resort, just don't want OKW, because we won't have a car this trip and traveling with little ones. It's President's weekend, and I'm hoping for just ONE room!!!! I'll know in a little over an hour if it's a possibility, but just hoping for a little reassurance!!! If we can't get a room, then we're going to use the points for the cruise, since we now plan on getting a beach house this summer and can only take 2 other vacations during the year due to school schedules.

The best thing to do is call and see what, if anything, is available. The fact that you are eliminating OKW will not work in your favor. OKW is the largest resort with the most villas and is usually the easiest to get into. Unfortuantely you are trying to get a room on short notice at a very busy time at WDW. I would call MS and see what they say, if you can get a room at BCV, VWL, BWV great, if the only room available is OKW you might want to seriously consider taking the room and renting a car. If nothing is available at any DVC resorts then get on waiting lists but I would also book cash reservations at whatever WDW resorts you can get into, just to be on the safe side. President's Day weekend is a very busy time for WDW and you are really cutting it close.

President's weekend is also the time for the Daytonna 500 so nearly all the rooms in the Orlando area are full. I would not get fussy about where to stay at such short notice, then again it is post 9/11 and maybe things are not as bad as they once were regarding rooms.
