I'm thinking about changing our plans around . How busy is Epcot at rope drop when they have an evening EMH? Is it busier than other days without EMH?

This is just me taking a guess. But I would think rope drop on an EMH evening day wouldn't be too bad. I believe the park would get busier in the later afternoon, or perhaps, that evening maybe.

Thanks for the guess. That's what I'm guessing also. Hopefully someone has gone on one of those mornings with evening EMH will answer.

Has anyone gone at rope drop on an EMH night ? I would love to hear your experience.

We've done it twice, both the first week of May in 2017 and 2018. It was not noticably busier than the non-EMH day RD we did this week. YMMV if you're going at a busier time but it was a non issue for us.

I wonder how it is in the summer.

Hi, I was at Epcot for rope drop on April 23rd which was also a night that they had EMH. I was also at Epcot for rope drop on April 26th. There was no difference in the crowd levels while we were held in front of Spaceship Earth to watch the trash can drummers. I think the park filled up quicker on Friday than on the Tuesday with EMH. The evening EMH at Epcot are a bit of a let down. A lot of the park closes up at 9 and a walk around the World Showcase is like walking through a partially closed mall (dimly lit, lots of closed shops and severely reduced cast). At about 9:45 the wait for the 4 major attractions was 15 minutes or less. I did not get the sense that Epcot evening EMH drew any larger crowds. Perhaps things will change once Guardians and Ratatouille opens.

We did it January 2018 and it wasn't bad but we did enter through IG. We headed straight to TT because most people ran to FEA...we waited maybe 15-20 minutes for TT.

Thank you for the information. Im glad you posted . I have been waiting for someone who has been during that time. I didn't want to change my days until I found out more about crowds

Bummer that not much is open during evening EMH, we were planning on going on our upcoming trip and I had seen several recommendations for walking around the countries at night...I guess just to look at them?

To put a positive spin on it, the World Showcase is quite peaceful from 9:30 to 11. My wife and I enjoyed some margaritas and nachos at La Cantina de San Angel. It was very quiet and we had a great view. They did leave the white show lights on the countries until about 10:30 which looks very nice. Most (not all) of the major gift shops were open (with one cashier, waited 10 minutes to buy something in Japan) and it appeared that every country had at least one food/drink option still open. All the flower and garden stands were closed by 9:30.
