How crazy is the crowd for Wishes in the newly designed hub?

Although we've been to the MK about 6 times over the last few years, we have never viewed Wishes from the hub or Main Street because of the mass of humanity that always forms. I admit to being slightly claustrophobic and we had a bad experience about 5 years ago getting "stuck" near the castle with a screaming child during the fireworks and we were unable to move at all.

Fast-forward to November of this year when my wife and I will be taking a trip by ourselves. I'd like to plan a romantic night to watch Wishes from an awesome location, but I don't want people standing on top of me. is it worth a FP to get reserved viewing? Has the newly designed hub allowed for the movement of traffic throughout or is it still pretty much a madhouse?

Where are your go-to spots to view Wishes? Any reviews for the Wishes dessert party?

Last week we watched once from the Hub and once from the FP location. What we did with the Hub was we picked a corner of the tape. This way no one would be behind us to make us feel boxed in. Yes, we listened to the CM's constantly keeping things moving but we actually got to know the workers a bit because they knew we were the perimeter and would tell everyone 'these people are the perimeter, no one can be beside them or behind them'. This was 4th of July and it was crowded but again since we had the openness it did not feel soo bad. The FP area was delightful! During the day we were a little sad because we couldn't get additional FP but once it came time to enter the FP area we were sooo happy we did it. I would say if you have more than one MK day it may be worth it to do the Wishes FP for one of them. If you only have one then it is probably not soo smart since it will limit your ability to get additional FP.

Glad to hear that the FP spot is a good one. I'm hoping to get a FP for Wishes on the day we have DTD planned, this way it's not really taking away from our park day FPs. thank you for your insight!

We will never again watch Wishes without a FP+. It was absolutely wonderful! No pushing, no shoving, plenty of room and a very polite crowd. In other words, the opposite of being out in the masses.

We arrived about 45 minutes in advance, the area had very few people in at that time. My adult kids spread out on the turf, my grandson got to run around and it was just delightful. In my book, it's one of the best improvements WDW had made in years! I highly recommend it. We did the dessert buffet as well on another night and much preferred the "free" fp+ viewing areas.

Can you get Wishes fp as a 4th fp easily enough? I am assuming it's a good enough spot to see the castle changing before the fireworks? I have been hemming and hawing over this myself. We have two claustrophobic people...

I like to watch in front of the flag pole but close to the train station. That way I can get out FAST at the end of the show.

I don't think Wishes is generally available same day. You get a good view of the pre- show as well.

It does tie up your fp+'s and that's the down side to it. Because of the way we tour the parks, it's not a problem for us. We chose a day where we visited AK without fp+ for the morning and then scheduled our fp+'s for the MK that night.

But for us, even if I had to give up sdfp's, I'd happily do it.

Both days we were at MK we stayed after the fireworks to ride more rides or see the Electrical parade. I don't believe you can get Wishes same day, looking at the Dibb it shows they are gone for the rest of this week (party of 4). The night we used the Wishes FP was our last night of our trip and I really liked the idea of not having to stake our claim an hour prior but also have a great view for our last hoorah! We actually stumbled across the entrance when we were looking for a place to eat our ice cream from The Plaza when everyone else was watching the electrical parade. We stopped and when I looked I saw the entrance, we entered sat and ate our ice cream then a few minutes later it was time for Celebrate The Magic (which we definitely had a great view).

Have you thought about a Wishes Specialty (Fireworks) Cruise? Although I've only experienced that lovely end-of-the-evening view of Wishes as 'a member of the family', the location's romantic quality has never been lost on me ... :) Note: We ('We' as in, once again, the family) have another planned for our next visit. And, in lieu of other more tangible but less awesome mementos of our trip, Grandma's buying ... again.

We attend Dessert Parties every trip now. It's too convenient and tasty to see Wishes from the Terrace.

Do you still after the price hike? We were definitely interested in trying it out before it.

So have all the new walkways not eased congestion some in the non fp areas?

My wife and I went to WDW in March while I was attending a conference and we watched Wishes and the pre-show from the new hub without a FP. It was absolutely wonderful. It wasn't crowded or mushed in. We had a brilliant view just a few yards back from the Partners statue. We also did dinner at the California Grill one night and saw them from the deck there. That's a much different experience. It's neat, but I prefer being in front of the Castle.

We're going end of the month so i'm guessing it's going to be uber crowded but if I did do FP where would I have to go for that? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if strollers are allowed in the fastpass areas? If not, is there a good stroller parking place nearby? Thanks!
