I’m a bigger supporter of
9/5
then
4/5/5
DCL must have data about cruisers that makes them feel the chances of a cruise longer than 9 nights is extremely unlikely to happen. Anything longer than 7 seems to be a "very special" itinerary, a repositioning cruise, or something needed to even a schedule out in another way.
I’m still surprised they didn’t sail a 7 night from Port Everglades. Have the Dream do the 7 nights from there and the Destiny do the short 3/4 night rotation.
They may end up there - but I suspect they think they can get higher profit in one way or another by doing the 4/5/5 approach they have decided to start with.... What is interesting about PE is they are putting the new ship on the longer rotation... They seem to be viewing PC and PE as one big port in essence...
PC 3/4 night cruises on new ship
PE 3/4 night cruises on old ship
PC 4/5 night cruises on old ship
PE 4/5 night cruises on new ship
PC 7 night cruises on new ship
Put together, you have your option of 3/4 night and 4/5 night itineraries on both classes of ship - Triton and Dream (and Magic for some of th time while a Dream ship is in Europe).
What further expansion does, we shall see... We are booked on the Magic out of PC in 2025... Does the magic ever return to Florida? We shall see. I can't imagine that Disney will not do a grand farewell for the Magic when they decide to retire her- I would think it could be a highly lucrative promotion to have a "farewell tour" for that vessel - maybe for a year or two...
