How come DCL isn't selling out?

Contradict all ya want, we get the offers.

Our last two non-TCM cruises were booked online with 35% off offers.
Friends booked theirs with the discount too.

Then, once booked with the discount, often offers to book additional cabins for that cruise come in at significantly lower rates than 35% off.

Booking the past TCM Cruise immediately when it opened up brought a modest discount, but a discount none the less.

Sorry you don't get them, that doesn't mean we don't.
I am happy for you that you receive the emails. I only wish I did too. I think we must sail too much and DCL thinks it doesn’t need to send us discount emails.

Being Castaway club members we wait for the 35% off E mails to arrive. Then chose the cheapest cabin on the cheapest cruise and take the discount.
Serious savings.
We can't stand other cruise lines.
Wow! Wish we got those! Do you happen to live in Florida, so DCL thinks it will be more likely for you to help fill the ship? Never even heard of this. Has this just been happening since Covid?

Up until a few years ago we lived in the Orlando area and are Platinum members. I never got or get emails about anything from Disney. But that’s ok, I don’t want any.

I don't see anyone contradicting or doubting you - they're just wondering who is sending you the offers, and what qualifies you for them/got you on the list.

They are so expensive. It could be difficult for a family of 4.
We’re lucky we can afford trips, but we are a family of 4 who went to Italy this year for 16 days and it’s going to cost less than the Treasure cruise we’re taking this year. It’s crazy.

I think cruise lines in general are going to hit a wall where supply is much higher than demand as they’re all increasing their ship quantity, prices, & ship capacity all at the same time.

First time cruiser here. Have a Wish 4 night sailing booked for 4 of us (two parents, two kids) for early June. I never received any email or anything about the current discount for kids with Disney+ subscription. Saw it mentioned on here, called and waited for 4.5 hours and then they were able to apply this discount - ended up saving a nice chunk of $.

I get emails advertising GT rates at 25-30% off. It's probably a Florida rate. I don't think DCL sends out emails for other private discounts and those are usually greater than 35%.

As far as I am aware DCL does not email Castaway members about *GT rates... but I know some TA's have mailing lists and share them with their clients. Maybe that is what they are referring to
Yes they do. They will send out emails advertising GT rates, but its nothing you cant find on the website.

My youngest just turned 18, so alas for me — can’t take advantage of that Disney+ deal!

And DCL is adding the fantasy, the destiny and the magic (part of the year) to sail MORE of these short Bahamas cruises. Not sure who is making these decisions, but they need to hire someone else. DCL needs more 7 night itineraries, not more short ones out of FL ports.
I've often wondered why they don't make Fantasy a 7-day, 3-day, 4-day itinerary ship. Every other week have a 7-day for those who want to do a 7-day on a ship that actually has decent adult spaces but 3 and 4-day cruises the other week for those who don't want to take a 7-day but prefer a ship that isn't the Triton class.

That sounds like the perfect solution. If only we could get dcl to see the light! And, as an added bonus, you could do a B2B with a 7 and a 3/4 night cruise if 14 days is too long at sea!

I’m a bigger supporter of
9/5
then
4/5/5

So there’s one 9 day a month. But I don’t think DCL would go for that so I’m happy to accept 7/3/4 as a compromise.

I’m still surprised they didn’t sail a 7 night from Port Everglades. Have the Dream do the 7 nights from there and the Destiny do the short 3/4 night rotation.

Can anyone confirm that it is standard practice to be able to apply a discount to an already booked cruise? I'm looking at a Halloween cruise and this Disney+ offer has me hoping for a similar discount in the Fall.

I would not count on this discount being offered in the fall. If it is offered in the fall, DCL has some real problems going on.

I know never to count on a discount but I'm wondering if it is possible apply a discount to an existing cruise reservation. This is standard practice for Disney resort rooms (assuming there is availability), not sure about cruise cabins.

Yes, if an offer comes out that applies to your cruise. I recently called in to apply the Disney + offer to an already booked cruise on the Wish. (After 4.5 hours on hold) it took about 5 minutes for the cast member to apply the discount (and saved me more than $1,000) - room and everything stayed exactly the same. They didn’t have to cancel and rebook or anything like that. Just applied the offer.

When a similar savings deal for Disney+ customers was offered 2 years ago, it also applied to existing reservations. I used it for a reservation that had been made a few months earlier for which I had already booked onboard activities.

IGT/OGT/VGT rates apply only to new bookings. I am not sure about other rates, such as Florida resident and Military.
