How close is too close for Cirque seats?

We have four children (ages 6 thru 14) and I'd like to get the best seats for them. I just checked online tickets for Cirque and I can get D row in section 102. Is that too close to enjoy it or do you think the little ones would like being in the middle of it all?

For all Cirque shows, and we have seen half a dozen of them, there are really no bad seats (except maybe O in Vegas). Same thing with the shoe in Disney. They're all good seats. It's a pretty intimate theater. But if you can get it that close, go for it

We've been to many Cirque DuSoleil shows (here in Dallas and at DTD) and personally we prefer seats a little further back. We usually go VIP tickets here in Dallas and sometimes we're seated right up on the first row or two and you can get a serious crick (sp?) in your neck from constantly staring practically straight up!

Seats at DTD was on the 2nd floor right on front row- perfect IMO! You can see everything and no neck problems (because no staring straight up the entire time LOL).

We saw Cirque during our Thanksgiving 2003 trip and sat in section 102 row C (third from the stage)...right off of the aisle! It was awesome to say the least!

DS was 11 1/2, but there were kids right next to us that looked as young as 5 and they seemed to enjoy it as much as everyone else.

Here's some FYI about those seats...

During the trazpeze...it seemed they were practically on top of our heads

During the bicycle section...the bikes braked directly on stage in front of us...we thought they'd fly off the seats and into our laps

During the flight part, where the guy flies from the red fabric...WOW! This was mom's favorite part...such nice eye candy for me That man is a beautiful example of human physique! And the fact that he soars right above your eyes...wow!

During the tumbling sequences...the stage is criss-crossed with an "X" tumbling mat...one of the legs of the "X" ends right at the aisle between sections 102 and 101, more toward 102 though...they tumble right toward you!

So, I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed being so close to the action! It really felt like we were more a part of the experience rather than just watching it from afar. We had such a wonderful time that each of us walked out asking, "can we go back inside and watch it again?"

Also, make sure that you arrive in the theater early...like 20 - 30 minutes...as there is a "pre-show" that happens in the aisles which is quite enjoyable. The house lights are still up so the little ones can get a more "friendly" exposure to the characters before the lights go down and it's dark.

So, take those seats!!! And have the most wonderlful expierence at Cirque!!!

Settled. Going to book them. And I guess we'll pack a heating pad in case we pull a muscle. LOL. I can't believe I'm spending $500 on this. I'm sure it will be worth it!!!

We have spent a small fortune seeing the Cirque shows in Vegas, Orlando, and travelling ones and we're still suckers for them. Going to see their new one in Twin Cities next weekend actually You won't regret it.

The reasons we were down in Orlando this last March are 1) convention 2) Cirque show THEN 3) Disney. *heh* Sorry, Disney lovers, Cirque comes before Disney (don't tell my kids though).

Just repling to your post earlier got me thinking...can we do it again at Christmas? I'm actually going to check into availabilty...just not sure how many "dark" days there are around the holiday. Hmpf! Yep...need to check....

Well, I did the deed. LOL. $509.10. I stared at the screen for like the longest time and checked the date about 10 times to make sure I didn't pick the wrong one.

I see from some of the responses this is a bit addicting. I hope it doesn't turn into the "once in a lifetime" thing that our first trip to WDW did.

Welcome to the club. It is addicting We are on their mailing list so we know when a travelling show comes near us. We plan our Vegas trip around when we'll see the next new Cirque show there. We want to move to Montreal and live on the doorsteps of the headquarter. Well, maybe not that bad ....

It's like crack and meth, but legal. Crack is cheaper I think.
