can you have windows right on top of each other? for instance, from 12pm-1pm and 1pm-2pm and 2pm-3pm?

That's right next to each other rather than on top, since they don't overlap. Yes, you can. I frequently schedule ours that way.

well they are stacked but without overlapping, lol. when I yell at my child for being on top of me it's because he is pressed as close to me as he can be without being halfway inside my body ;)

Can you overlap as well? I would guess not!

You cannot overlap, but you can schedule them right next to each other.

If you want to try and squeeze them a little tighter, we had some luck with modifying our next fastpass to an earlier time once we used our first one. As soon as you go through the tapstile for one fastpass, that window is freed up to reschedule your next one.

For example, we had Big Thunder Mountain at 1:00 pm and Splash Mountain at 2:00 pm. Got in the fastpass line for BTM at 12:55 and while waiting to get on the ride, I was able to move Splash up to 1:15 pm using the mobile app.

oh interesting! I'm planning a short day at HS in december, morning EMH til about 3pm or so. Hoping to cram a bunch in in that time :)

Yes, you can, but when making my FP+ selections the other day, there were several times that I had to put 15 minute gaps in between due to availability. For instance, I got Splash at 10:00, but then HM wasn't available until 11:25.

Keep in mind too that the available fastpasses will change constantly. You can refresh your search and get a completely different set of times available (or no times available at all) every time you refresh.

What I did was grab the best time I could get, and then just kept searching and grabbing earlier ones as they showed up. You may see Star Tours at 4:50 pm, refresh and find 3:15 pm, refresh and find 8 pm, refresh and find nothing, refresh and find 2:30 pm, etc.

Also, if you are really hitting the MDE app hard on your phone, I'd suggest taking a portable battery charger with you. The app really drained my phone battery fast.
