How close are you to a tourist "interest"??

I live in Longabergerland! :teeth: Drive by the basket daily.

We also have ancient indian mounds (although one is a country club golf course:rolleyes: ), and Flint Ridge where Native Americans would travel from all over to collect flint.

Oh and we have National Trails raceway whick drag racing fans will be familiar with.

I live about 5 minutes from two: Lowe's Motor Speedway, which is certainly a big tourist destination three times a year; and Concord Mills Mall, which wouldn't seem like a tourist destination except it draws more tourists than anything else in the state except for the Blue Ridge Parkway.

45 minutes from KY Speedway
25 minutes from Cincinnati

I live 5 minutes from WDW. Have to get by all the tourist just to get off my street in the morning, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

lisajl & bobcat mentioned a few in our area. We also have the Columbus Zoo with the famous (or not so famous) Jack Hanna running the place :)

Just about an hour south of here, there's the Hocking Hills... very popular in the fall. Kings Island is to the south as well and Cedar Point is to the north :)

We live about an hour from the Mall of America. I think that's the biggest tourist attraction around here.

My town is a tourist town in the summer! It is wonderful here from Sept-May then in June the town gets mobbed! I live a few blocks from the beach. We are also the next island south of Atlantic City (only 8 miles). DH works in a casino.

We're halfway between Boston and Plymouth, and about an hour from Cape Cod.

There are actually a lot more touristy areas here, but those are the main ones :)

Before moving to MA, I lived AT the NJ shore; an hour from NYC; an hour from Philadelphia; an hour from Atlantic City. :teeth:

I LOVE being near the ocean and cities, all at the same time. I never could've fallen for my DH if he had lived in a land-locked state :p

I live an hour away from that man that wrapped his entire house in plastic sheeting:rolleyes:

Niagara Falls is about an hour and a half away, and Six Flags Darien Lake is about an hour away.

I live about 20 minutes from a National Park. I think we're one of the few people that live near there that go there. It's weird how most people that live near a "tourist attraction" rarely visit that attraction. Most of the people that visit are definately tourists.

i'm 15 min from the home of the little brown jug and 30 min from columbus

We're right in the middle of several sites of the Revolutionary War. Valley Forge is nearby. The Brandywine Battlefield is not too far away. When we lived in our last house, I used to take walks around the field where the Paoli Massacre took place.

If you travel in the other direction, we're not too far from Lancaster, which is a big tourist destination.

I live less than 5 minutes from the Indy 500 track.

Every year the Lakeland airport has the Sun 'n Fun Fly-in. It's an air show. You can go and see the planes up close and they have all sorts of activities and shows. I'm about 10 minutes away.

Well....we live 45 minutes from one nuclear plant, 50 minutes from another nuclear plant, about a little over an hour from another nuclear plant, and probably about 1 1/2 hours from another nuclear plant - N, S, E (well NE) W

Attractions - we are 1 hour from major airport - O'Hare; 45 minutes from Woodfield (major shopping area already mentioned); a little over an hour from dt Chicago; 2 hours from Six Flags and an hour from Brookfield Zoo - big zoo in the area.

Hey Momof2...I live about 20 min. east of you. I am about 30 min. from Cedar Point and about 30 min. from the Rock Hall of Fame. Lots to see and do around here and I rarely go to any of it!

I know there is several things to do but same here...I have yet to go to the Rock Hall (with the exception of taking my DD to the O-Town concert there a few years ago) and havn't been to Cedar Point in over 10 years (my kids are just too short to warrant spending the $ to go).
