How clean should we leave pool homes?

We just returned from our usual vacation in a beachside condo and I'm wondering what items to just leave unpacked for our first stay in villa near Disney at Christmastime, and if I need to add different items like cleansers. I've checked the Terms and Conditions of the owner and there's no guidance there so I'll probably barrage the guy with questions like this at the last minute, but I'm wondering if there's a universal standard.

We rent our summer condo through a real estate agency and their rules are specific: Take out all garbage, wash the dishes and grill, and don't leave more than three loads of laundry. Is that about the same as what's expected from Disney villa owners?

I'd say that's pretty much standard..

Some owners ask you to throw a load of sheets on before you leave...some ask that the pool towels are all laundered..the dishes - in the dishwasher or no - are clean..

We've never been asked to have beds remade, just the linens removed, and put in the laundry room. We have been asked to make sure that the extra set of bedding for each room is clean and ready to go.

Some have said to just leave the beds, towels, but make sure that the grill is clean.

It just depends on the managment company, I guess, and what their housecleaners are required to do, ie how much time they can spend in a house.

We've always purchased cleaning supplies. Just a bottle or two of Mr. Clean All Purpose type cleanser. I never get anything that's abrasive, you never know if the tub, counter surfaces, tile, etc., will be okay with it...after checking with the owner first:)

HTH!

That sounds about right. I ask that the grill be maintained. If you can strip the beds and all dirty linens be put near the washer if possible with 6 bedrooms 5 baths it s a lot of linens.

We do not expect the beds to be remade the cleaners will do that. If dishes in dishwaser can be started would be nice and so on.

When I first read the subject line I had really bad thoughts in my mind. My biggest fear would be really unclean guests. We do keep a deposit but lets be honest just washing walls with my cleaner after a smoker was in my home and we have a non smoking home would eat up the deposit I am certain. This has not happened to us we have had really wonderful guests.

A long time ago I saw a movie with Micheal Keaton in it and it was a real nightmare. Not something I hope will ever really happen but it is always in the back of my mind.

I would purchase a little cleaner for your own use but other then that I think you are good to go. Have a wonderful vaca. Deb

Thanks. That's what I'd hoped. We leave the condo neat and cleanish and presentable but someone definitely needs to sweep and scrub and do the beds after us - not unlike a hotel room.

The houses I've stayed in have had a binder with specific instructions in them. Only one of them asked that we strip the beds and put the linens by the washer, but it was easy enough to do.

I think they all asked that we run the dishwaser.

They usually have specific days that the garbage is picked up and ask that you put the containers out on those days. If it's not one of those days, they asked that we put all of the trash in the containers.

I've always had the towels washed and dried but usually just left them on the couch or in the dryer (I don't recall the directions requesting that we wash them, I just did it.).

I don't "clean" anything. As others have said, the cleaning crew takes care of that.

Our home has a welcome folder in,which requests things like take all bed covers off and leave on beds, put some towels in washing machine as you leave
Throw away all garbage and put bin out if bin day etc.
It all just helps the cleaners have a head start if another guests arriving after 4 the same day.
Needless to say, there is alot of variation in what guests do carry out before leaving,
