I stayed at CBR 8 years ago. It was my first trip to WDW and CBR was my dream hotel, judging from the internet's pictures. When I got there, the hotel was as beautiful as I imagined, but with one huge problem: it was a long walk (10 minutes) to the food court. I was upgraded from standard to preferred in Martinque in CBR. I didn't know that was preferred because it was such a long walk. The next year, I moved to Pop Century and was assigned one of the furthest standard rooms in the 70s. Yet, it was half as far as my CBR preferred room!
From then on, I only visit CBR for resort days. And I had an idea that can easily solve the size problem of CBR. Instead of that internal bus (which was ridiculous, you can walk to where you want to go faster than waiting for that thing), they can have an internal tram system around the lake, with stops at every building, going in both directions. Same trams they use to carry people from the parks to the parking lots, though don't need to be as long. People can walk along, see where the trams are around the lake, catch a tram, and save them the rest of the walking while enjoying a scenic ride. The trams should go at a fast walking speed and be easy to load strollers or luggage or scooters. The distance around the lake is a lot shorter than the distance outside the buildings where buses run, and the trams skip having to pull in and out of each station. Plus people can see the trams around the lake; they can't see where the buses are. The trams are easier to drive than the buses.
They can run 2 trams in opposite directions all day long, with 2 more trams during park openings and closings. And get rid of that internal bus.
If CBR doesn't figure something out, the gondola is only going to be good for the buildings next to the gondola station. Even people in the current preferred rooms are going to take forever to get there. In comparison, most buildings in Pop and AofA are already close to their gondola station at the bridge. It's going to take less time and less walking for the Pop/AofA people to reach the CBR gondola station than for CBR people.
