I am booked through an agency right now and the woman I've been dealing with is awful. She is now lying to me and telling me that I cannot cancel (I'm over 50 days out) and saying that my dining is connected to my reservation which I know it is not. She said the dining will be cancelled if I cancel my trip through her. She's refusing to cancel. What can I do?

Tell her you are willing to lose the dining (because you are correct - you will not lose it). You do not have to have a resort reservation to make an ADR so whatever she is threatening is just a string of idle words. Check the terms and conditions carefully and if you are clear that you can cancel without penalty, tell her it is not open for discussion. You want confirmation of the cancelation in writing. It's your money. You call the shots. As long as you haven't signed your life away - so check the contract - she does not get to tell you what to do while you remain outwith the penalty period for canceling.

PS. Welcome to the DIS :)

I'd say your only option is to go to her boss. If she doesn't have one, I don't know what you can do.

Thank you! We never signed anything so that should not be a problem. 45 days is the time frame for Disney cancellations, right?

Yes, you should be able to cancel. If she made your adrs for you, I guess there is the possibility she could cancel those as well (if she wanted to be not nice and has the confirmation numbers). Is there a reason you want to cancel with her? I'd just be worried you won't be able to get the same resort/room/price, etc. at this point.

With Disney yes, but that's why I say check the terms and conditions. If you have paid something (deposit or anything) that will likely be deemed as entering a contract with them. It's because you mentioned you used an agent that I suggested you check the terms of canceling as they tend not to mess with customers as much when they know that you know your facts and what your rights are. Good luck and let us know how you get along with it.

I agree with the suggestion to ask for her boss. That's probably a good first stop too.

We booked with another agency and got a much better deal. I was promised all kinds of things and haven't received anything yet. The service has been terrible.

My only fear for you is that the TA will your dining ressies. I have read that another person that used a TA and they got into a disagreement and the TA messed up their dining and I think FP+. Or maybe it was the other way around I just remember reading that the TA reaked havoc. Hope it all works out. But sounds like she is trying to bully you.

Good luck then, I hope you are able to cancel and not stuck with two reservations.

Is there anyone at Disney I can contact? I am feeling very threatened right now.

I'm not sure if Disney will be able to help you, but you could call the CRO(Central Reservations Office) and ask them to direct your call appropriately. Are you dealing with your agent over the phone or are you going in personally? Just wondering if there is someone you could take with you for moral support so you don't feel 'ganged up on' if you are going in.

Is she willing to cancel if you let your dining reservations go? I'd ditch them in that case and make some new ones just to get out of it.

It's online. I don't even know where she is located.

How much have you paid as a deposit? Not ideal and probably not recommended but you could send an email so you have proof of your request to cancel in writing and just forgo the deposit if they don't have that much.

I would also try calling Disney too. Explain the story and see if they can help in any way. They may be able to link ur ressie's to MDE so u can see them online.

If you're talking about your dining ADR's, then you shouldn't lose them as they are not attached to your room package. That doesn't mean the TA couldn't cancel them out of spite.

I recommend getting on the WDW site and seeing if you can make new ADR's just in case (you can cancel them if your originals remain intact).

What reason did you give her for canceling?

And yes she could cancel your ADRs.

Not sure Disney could do anything.

Never used a TA for Disney but my question is did she make your ADRs or did you through MDE? If you did and she has no access to it, then I would think she can't get to your reservations. If she had access to your account, would changing your password be one step in protecting it? Maybe someone else knows who is in the business but it couldn't hurt.

I would call Disney for sure and see if you can get assurances she won't access your ADRs or MDE account (get their name and number in case). No excuse for bad service on principle and even if it cost me a cancel fee in reason I would do it. Once you are completely done and back from your trip I would write a letter to the proper Disney department and make a complaint about her. They are their first line of service if they are Disney approved.

I used to work for AAA and still have access to the TA Disney site. I may be able to help. I can't direct message you yet cause you have to make so many posts on here before they let you do that. Did you get anything with your confirmation number on it from that agency? All TA's should send you something with your confirmation number and a set of the agency's terms and conditions.
