How can I get my Dreams travel agent to do anything????

I am using a Dreams Unlimited travel agent for my next 3 cruises. I switched my placeholders to him because I thought getting the onboard credit seemed like a good deal.
It is like pulling teeth trying to get him to do anything for me. I have been asking to add transfers and prepaid gratuities since I booked. First he told me to wait until the cruise is paid off. 2 of them are now and I still can’t get him to add them.
Yesterday I sent an email pretty much begging him to help me…no response…he was online through the chat so I know he got it.
Is there anything I can do in this situation???? Any ideas would be appreciated

I share your pain. I can’t get my agent to respond either.

Both of you - contact John, the owner of DU at john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com He wants to know about this sort of situation. He can't fix it if he doesn't know about it.
Thank you, I may have to do that. I am using placeholders for all of mine, so I am pretty sure I am stuck. They are well past the 30-day mark. It's funny, not 30 minutes after my original post, he finally responded. I am hoping maybe a fire was lit. I won't be using Dreams again in the future though. It's not worth the onboard credit; I would rather contact Disney myself and know things are being taken care of. Travel agents are supposed to ease my stress, not this!

I would think since it would be a transfer to an agent in the same agency it might be allowed. But I don't know.

Can be hit or miss with DU agents sometimes. We had a similar problem with our original agent. We reached out to John, he fixed the situation and offered to assign us a new agent. Initially, we declined. We wanted to give the original agent another chance. Who knows ..people could be going through some serious stuff sometimes. Things got better for a while, then went back to being too slow with responses. We reached out to John again, and he assigned us a different agent who from day 1 has been fantastic. Always responds quickly, even on weekends and when we say something like "no rush, but when you can ..."

What are the pros and cons of using a TA? I’ve been on several DCL cruises and have never used one. Why not use the Disney website to book the cruise?

A TA can do things like keep an eye on discounts, some offer onboard credit, some will be up at midnight to book your activities for you (check in is supposed to be done by the guest tho), they can help with recommendations for things like excursions, and just being another set of eyes.

And it gives someone a job....at no cost to you.

Frankly, I don’t believe there is much benefit for using a TA for WDW. That for me, at least. People with less experience/trips may be able to lean on a (hopefully knowledgeable) TA for more information or guidance/advice.

For DCL however, there are definitely benefits. OBC for starters, is the obvious one. Secondly, not having to spend hours on the phone (on hold for most of that) to book a cruise when a new batch of itineraries are released.

I too much of a control freak to use a TA. Plus I enjoy the research! I have changed cabins a couple of times (before PIF) when “better” ones become available. And it’s a hassle to have to go thorough an outside TA to do that.
