All he sees is $$$ signs everytime I talk about our trip. I cannot be the ONLY one with a Grumpy DH, right?
DH is the same way. He says he'll get excited in October. Our local Disney store is closing, so I grabbed him a t-shirt with Grumpy on it. He even wore it the other day.
Embrace the Grumpy.
He always thinks $$$$ first. Which if he didn't, we wouldn't be financially able to go--he's a very good business man-I am VERY proud of him! But, he always has a blast and is very excited b4 we leave. I think they are just doing the job of provider and thinking WOW how much $$ is this gonna be before it's over!!HA! But hey- at least he's letting ya'll go and you will have a wonderful time when you get there. I just try to talk to all ya'll when I am planning a trip and keep him from hearing it every breath!! It really does help!!My Dh isn't grumpy about it--just not as enthused as I would like!!He always thinks $$$$ first. When he finds stuff he likes there too and sees his family happy, he's bound to be hooked!

rincess:My DH isn't really grumpy... it's more that he's COMPLETELY uninterested in the vacation planning process (while I love the planning). He has no interest in what I've planned until about a week before we leave for a trip. When I try to run ideas by him months in advance, he gets annoyed by me. Then, a week before the trip

OMgosh! That is so my husband! He is completely uninterested, and then calls me the control freak. If it wasn't for me, we would be eating quick service all week long. On our last trip, we had it out the last day and I told him fine, you are in charge. Half the stuff was missing from the back pack, he forgot the autograph book and that was when we finally caught up with Snow White. And I was like "Yeah, it isn't that easy, uh???"
I am not a control freak, I am just organized. I hate getting to the park and then thinking, oh man, we forgot something. So I always ask him up front where he wants to eat, where he wants to stay. And he always shrugs it off and says "this is all you. Just tell me where to go when we get there."
ugh, these husbands.![]()
Wow, maybe as a man I should not post but here goes
This might be a shock, but he maybe he doesn't want to go??? Perhaps you should take a hint? Plan a vacation that he desires or give him the option to stay at home.
I do all the planning for every vacation but then my wife does all of the clothes selections, meds etc etc. I pack everyone. I wouldn't dream of going on a vacation where she did not want to go? We are lucky because we sit down and go over the final plans. She does all the financial stuff but gives me a budget to plan.
Maybe you should go with the last resort when it deals with getting men excited.... A bit of Mickey Goofy time in the sack as motivation......
