Well said. I have said before that a manual does a good job of teaching you how to change the settings on your camera, but in most cases it is of almost no help at all in helping you understand why you'd want to do so, or when to choose one adjustment rather than any other.I had read my manual first, but it wasn't much help at that point. The manual teaches you how to use your camera--what each button and menu item does--but it doesn't really teach you the fundamentals of photography.
