How Can I convince my Husband?

My husband was so against buying into DVC. On the last trip before we bought into DVC my sister-law came down at the same time and set up time to tour DVC asking if we wanted to go. My husband flippped. We stayed at the Yacht Club for a few nights that trip and I think that is what sold him. I wanted to buy at BCV and within 3 months of that trip we were owners of a BCV resale and 2 years later 2 add-ons!!! So staying where we (I) wanted to buy was what changed his mind.

I am trying to convince my husband to join DVC before the price goes up March 31st and I am running out of time. We Take a vacation to Disney almost every year (this Feb we did the Disney Cruise). In the long run I think that it will pay off for us. Any advice on how to convince him???? :Pinkbounc

You're taking a different approach than my wife did. You are trying to convince your husband to join DVC then purchase. What my wife did was to purchase then try to convince me. She went down in the fall of 03 with my son and stayed off site and did not care for the accomadations.
She can home with 240 pts @SSR then said she wanted to show me "something." Instead of getting upset, I wound up changing the contract to 300 pts then adding on another 100 shortly after. Can't always predict how husbands are going to react. :yay:

Don't think I didn't think of that but last Nov I surprised my husband with the Disney Cruise that we took this Feb. and let's just say that we didn't take it so well. I had paid for it cash so it wasent like he had to come up with the money. Needless to say he had a great time on the cruise. I decided at that point no more surprises! Well last night he gave in! WE ARE JOINING DVC!!!!! I made the phone call to my rep. and the paperwork is on it's way. I'm too excited to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My husband keeps arguing that the tickets and airfare we would still have to purchase.

Um, you would have to purchase those anyway even if you didn't join DVC and traveled every year, so tell him that.

Men need tangible proof that they can see.

Do a spread sheet, take the number of stays you have currently done and put down how much they cost. Show him how much the rooms increased every year. Then show him DVC and how it will "pay for itself" in a few years.

I didn't think my hubby would go for it either but he took the tour and saw the proof on how we would save on our accomodations over time and he said sign up. I went in thinking it was just to give him info so I could convince him when I wanted to buy (which was 4 years away as an anniversary present to ourselves). I was soooo glad when he said we should do it now!
