How busy was it on Memorial Day?

Contemplating going next year during this week, and trying to get a sense of the crowds and wait times. I know the opening of GOTG impacted DCA at least ...

TIA!

Saturday and Sunday were not that busy as they were blockout days. Saturday was busier for the new ride opening at DCA, but both parks had lower crowds than normal for this time of year. Monday was much busier according to the app. We were there just on Sunday and it was so nice. I do not expect things to be so nice on our trip next month.

My best friend was there yesterday (Monday). I haven't heard from her, but I was sort of checking ride times in Disneyland (the original park) all day and they stayed very reasonable for a "holiday," with a lot of FPs still available into the evening. So good (at least on paper) that I was seriously scheming how I could go next year during this time too!

Thanks, it's now on my radar as a very possible time to go with my son - he finishes school midday the Friday before memorial day, so we could make it in early enough to still get a lot done on Friday... of course, that's if the passes follow the same schedule as this year.

Now wondering if I should delete the thread to keep this on the down low ...

Thursday May 25th was insanely busy, probably the busiest I've ever seen. Friday May 26th was the lightest of our trip and was great. Saturday and Sunday were busy but definitely manageable, with Sunday being lighter than Saturday. Weather was great.

The AP twitter feed said that M&F closed for a few hours due to crowds yesterday. Everyone was redirected to TS. The structure reopened later in the day. We were there on Sunday, and it was the closest to a perfect day (lower crowds and great weather) at DL that we've had in a long time. Friends told us that Monday was much busier, and the M&F temporary closure confirms that.

I was there Thursday through Monday, and honestly the crowds weren't nearly as bad as I anticipated they'd be, even on the worst days. Guardians had crazy long lines (to be expected) but the rest of the park was manageable for the entirety of my trip.

Thursday (for whatever crazy reason) was actually one of the most crowded days, focused on Disneyland Thursday, but I used my Magic Morning that day and got a lot done early. Had a few 20-30 min queues later, but nothing too bad.

Friday was an absolute breeze. I walked on all the smaller rides at DCA, while fastpassing or single riding the bigger ones. But did just about everything in the park. I think my longest wait all day was about 20 minutes for funwheel. Got basically everything in the park done before 4 o'clock. (Including the lame rides in bugs land and paradise pier, haha)

Saturday was similar to Friday if not better. Walked onto many of the big ticket rides at DCA and Disneyland.

Sunday wasn't as good as Saturday, but still manageable. Monday was much the same. I was honestly expecting horrible holiday crowds (especially after reports they hit capacity the weekend before last) but was pleasantly surprised by how manageable it was. Some days were downright good. No crowds. Minimal waits. Even when it backed up more, as long as you did the big stuff early and juggled fastpasses effectively, it was all doable.

The ONLY thing I'd call a nightmare crowd was Guardians, and even that was manageable. Got there early. Secured a fastpass. Rode it in the afternoon with no wait. (I would not touch standby on this ride with a 30 foot pole however until the hype dies down). Pretty sure most of the DCA crowd was being absorbed by this ride, leaving other things less crowded all weekend.

We went monday and Disneyland was great. Low waits all day. We headed over to DCA around 5:30 and it wasn't too bad either. The usual headliners were long (over an hour for racers, soarin, and toy story), but GOTG got down to 2 hours in the evening. All the others were walk-on.
