Hi, I'm expecting to visit Universal Studios & IOA during the Rock the Universe weekend (Sept 7th-9th), not for Rock the Universe, it's just that I will happen to be there when this music festival is on.

Does anyone know if the parks are much busier than normal on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday that this is taking place? If it is really busy I will change my plans. Thanks.

RTU is during Labor Day weekend so it's going to be busy during the day regardless. The Studios will get very busy towards afternoon when people start arriving for RTU but IOA shouldn't be affected all that much. Since you aren't staying for RTU, go to the Studios in the morning and then head over to IOA later in the day.

RTU is the weekend after Labor Day. Do Labor Day crowds hang around that long? I've booked onsite so I'm hoping we'll be fine, but maneuvering around crowds in the heat is not my favorite thing. I know the event itself will be packed, but only my son and husband are going to that. I'm hoping for less crowded than the end of October in the parks. It is September, but just don't know what extra crowds the event will bring in. They do offer the 3 day event and park pass to attendees and I'd think some will take advantage of that.

Thanks. Labor Day is the previous weekend, so hopefully it will be a little quieter.

If I could postpone one week, that is what I'd do. RTU is bound to bring in some extra people. If you're not going to the event and it is possible to postpone a week or two, I'd do it.

Yup...I guess I looked at the wrong year calendar. :rolleyes1

Since you're staying onsite you shouldn't have to worry about lines or crowds. After Labor Day weekend crowds will slow down until Halloween Horror Nights starts.
