How busy is May?

After 30 trips to WDW in the past 15 years, I am contemplating a trip around May 12th. I have always gone during Christmas or in summer, and once right after Labor Day which was great. I have not been since September 2011 (which blows my mind that it has been that long), and am looking at the opportunity to go in May but it will be last minute so I probably won't have much time to book FP+. (have never used it obviously and am skeptical as I have never been a WDW planner in the past). Probably will be there with my 81 year old mother (going to Orlando for her sister's 90th birthday), and last time we went to together she was 75 (she loved Tower of Terror).

We probably will go to two parks and she will most likely need a wheel chair as it will be a lot of walking for her. Thinking MK and Epcot. So, having said that.....how busy is it around May 12th-15th? We can also go May 18th-21. (party is the 17th) And if I don't get FP+ for MK and Epcot, will I be out of luck for most attractions?

We love going the middle of May. We have been many times and love the weather, crowds and the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot!

You can get a lot done at Magic if you get there at opening "rope drop" You can also easily access the monorail from Magic to get to Epcot. Where would you be staying ?

You will at the least have a 30 day early window to book your fast passes...so around the middle of April just plan on buying your tickets buy them and linking them online so you have make your fast passes.
