How busy have the parks been this summer?

We have been AP holders for a few years and we love Universal. We are planning our first summer trip for the weekend of August 4th. We have actually never been during the summer before. How busy has it been this summer?

We are staying at Royal Pacific so we will have the express pass for most rides, but not everything. Does anyone have advice for when to hit the new Minion ride?

We will be there at the same time Aug 4-7th, staying at HHR. The express pass will be a lifesaver for lines! Our plan is to hit WWoHP for early entry and use the express pass for the rest of IoA.

Capacity is so low on that ride, that it probably won't ever get express.

Most new rides HAVE express when they open. ROTM, Simpsons, Seuss Sky Trolley, Disaster, Hippogriff, Dragon Challenge, and now Minion Mayhem.

Rockit will never have Express due to capacity (too low, common lengthy downtimes). Forbidden Journey is still possible, but not any time soon. That ride actually puts riders through very fast, so Express could actually bog them down.

I was just there for 9 days over the grand opening. The only days there was no express was the days before and on the grand opening. The next day they had express open. With express we waited no more than 10 minutes with standby posted between 75 and 110 minutes.
