Have never really been to Fl before, can someone tell the how really buggie it is in the middle of Sept? I was showing one of the people that is going with me the pictures of Ft Wildreness cabins and I Said"look how pretty this is" and she said " look how buggie is looks" I told her if all she is going to do is complain the whole time she should stay home. I think I have read that they spray the Ft wilderness alot for bugs. What about the rest of the WDW. How bad is it really. I plan on taking lots of off with me.

We were there (at Beach Club Villas) last September, and I don't remember having any problems with bugs. We didn't use Off or any other repellent and none of us got any bug bites!:D

DH and I have also been there in September and never encountered a problem with bugs. Never brought bug spray or anything similar.:earsboy:

We've been 3 times in Sept - Oct, I always bring bug spray, but don't think I've ever used it. DD & myself are mosquito magnets and we've never had any problems that time of the year. We went 2 years ago to AKL in late April @ night DH & I would sit out on the balcony and we did notice things biting us a little (very little). That was also when the "love bugs" were coming out - I don't know if they bite or not. I know Disney is very aggressive with spraying, but don't know if they do as much @ AKL, due to the animals. We've never stayed @ FW, but I wouldn't worry about it, take bug spray, if it's a problem - spray and go on your way. And remember, there always has to be 1 complainer in the group - just ignore her and enjoy your stay.

Oh, and I, by NO means, am saying that AKL has a bug problem, that's just what we encountered, it wasn't bad & I would stay there again - don't want to be flamed:teeth:

I brought bug spray on our HM last september after reading here about how "bad" the bugs were.

I think i used it ONCE...when we went out at night while staying at the WL to look for the memory box. (night time, near the woods/water - yeah a little bit more buggy).

we SAW the love-bugs...interesting little creatures...but were not bothered by bugs at all. We were there Sept 21st through October 3

Are you referring to the LOVE BUGS that invade Florida every May and September?

If so....then, it MAY be BUGGIE!
But, they don't bite. Just ALOT of them doing "their thing" all over the place!

Its Florida.......There are bugs.

Here is another secret.............shhh........Its hot and humid!!

We were there the first week in September last year (and have been a few times in September). The only bugs that we ever see are the love bugs and they are EVERYWHERE!! They don't bite or anything and my DD6 is very good at driving them crazy by chasing them...she is like a little bug ridder!!

My DD6 and I attract mosquitos for some reason (so sweet, I guess ;) and we didn't have any trouble or need any bug spray at all.

The weather was beautiful while we were there. It was warm, but that made the pool feel all that much better in the evening!

ok this might be the silliest ? of the day. I see alot of you write about "love bugs" I have no clue of what they are. Can someone help me out .

They are bugs that you see a couple of times a year - May & Sept. I think (about the size of a lightning bug, maybe smaller) they are everywhere and they are "in love" and it shows by their actions - if you know what I mean;)

Anyone know what time of month they are plentiful in sept? We have gone in May twice, and the trip in late May had lots of lovebugs, but none during early May. We are going in late Sept this year.
