I think SSR is more spread out, because at CSR all of the services, restaurants, etc are in the same place, although the pool is across the lake...SSR just seems really spread out to me. I would not want to be there without a car.

at SSR just as CSR everything is in one building, checkin, shops, restaurant and counter service. While at CSR the main pool is on the other side of the lake the pool at SSR is right in front of the main building, just a short distance down the steps.
As at CSR the buildings are spread out over the property as are the bus stops.
So, if we have stayed at CSR and did not mind the walks to get around, will we be okay at SSR?
We found CSR large and spread out. We would prefer a short walk to everything, but we didn't mind it and it did not seem to distract from our enjoyment.
I have read how large SSR is and wondered how it compared to CSR to get an idea if we it would be too big.
We just stayed at SSR in the Carousel section. Although it seemed brand new and beautiful, it was too far for us to walk to the main pool in the heat. The good news is that there is a loop bus that seemed to be by all of the time, and many of the park buses stopped at the main pool area before leaving as well. It really wasn't bad, since the bus service is good. You wouldn't want to drive though to the main pool IMO, that would probably be an equal hassle.
We stayed at CSR, and it is spread out but not as much as SSR. I would definately stay at CSR again, but would prefer SSR. Both are beautiful resorts.
