How Big Is Blizzard Beach? Help!

Would you say Blizzard Beach is the size of Magic Kingdom?...Smaller? Are the lockers in the very front? I would gather the lockers are used to store our change of clothes...room keys..things like that..But, then..we'd carry a bag with our sunscreen and towel...to a chair?...and we leave our things there on the chair while we "go play"? Since we obviously would not be able to have our cell phone with or on us...would it be difficult to locate some of the other people in our party...like to give them money for snacks or let them know that I may be going back to the room a little earlier? There are probably no clocks there?...I'd have to put my watch in the bag that is by "my chair"? I think I will wear one of those little water proof containers around my neck to hold some money...

I've never been to a water park before and I guess I really don't know the "proceedures.." ...I know about the water shoes now..thanks to this forum...but, any more information would be most appreciated... I am the "wife", "mother", "sister" and "Nana"...of this group...."The Disney Leader of the Pack" ....and need to know what I am doing (at least "look like I know") ....

It's much smaller than the Magic Kingdom -- and in a way, much more manageable. It also fills up a lot sooner. You need to get there VERY early, at least a half hour before it opens.

One great tip: go early in the week. Most people arrive at WDW on Sunday and spend the first couple days visiting the theme parks, then hit the water parks Thursday or Friday. If you go to the water parks Monday or Tuesday, the crowds are significantly smaller. We did that and it's true! The first two or three hours were blissfully free of crowds -- but by noon it started to get congested...the lines can get pretty long.

Yes, there are lockers near the front of the park, and towels. The lockers are not at the front gate, but inside, closer to the different pools. There is also a souvenir shop and a few small places to grab a bite to eat.

You will definitely want to invest in one of those little plastic cases to wear 'round your neck. You can use that for your money and room key -- maybe even your car keys if you get a large one. Get a cheap water resistant watch, too, that you can wear on the slides. A waterproof camera, too!
We keep a few things -- tee shirts, suntan lotion -- under our towels on our chairs, and have never had a problem.

You will have a great time. The water parks are among our favorite Disney things to do -- and sometimes the kids love them more than the big theme parks!

Thanks! OK...I've got the water shoes....I bought each person in my party a Disney towel with their name on it...I bought the water proof container to wear around my neck..(I am going to test it first...to make sure it works)....I will now have to go out to get the water proof disposable camera and watch!

We arrive February 14th....and have reservations the following morning for Cinderella's Breakfast...So..we will spending the whole day there....Our only options for the Water Park...would be Wednesday through Sunday...(We leave President's Day)....This trip..because the grandchildren wanted to go to the Water Park so badly...except for the first two days...I have nothing planned (except for dinner reservations)..in hopes one of the days would be warm enough for going....I believe every morning would be EE for the water park....and I know...the closer the weekend...(especially President's) the more crowded....At least we would have Magic Kingdom out of the way....before then.... So..if the water park opens at 10:00 AM...and it is EE...we can hop on the bus (Pop Century) ...get there early...and stay until around 2:00...Get back on the bus...go back to the room to get cleaned up ...to go out to dinner....Would you say 2:00 would be long enough?...or later?..Our reservations are between 6:00 and 7:00.

10-2 is plenty of time to enjoy the park. It isn't terribly large and everything is close to eachother. We went one year President's week and the weather was tolerable, but if the sun went behind the clouds we were cold. If going before March, I would pick the warmest day (according to the weather predictions) to go to the water parks. Blizzard Beach is a ton of fun. Try to get everyone in your party to go on the Alpine Slide. The first time is a bit creepy, but fun as can be!!

Sounds like an awesome trip for your family!

Just so you know, we NEVER leave the water parks before they close. My DH and kids are total water bugs, and absolutely love going to the water parks. If I tried to make them go from only 10-2, we would be back the next day! Don't underestimate the water parks---for them or you!!
