I would really like to do 'Ohana dinner for my b-day, but i HATE bananas. Are the bananas just in the caramel sauce? Or do they permeate the entire dessert?

If all else fails, I guess I could just have a Lapu Lapu for dessert instead :)

They didn't even have the bananas in the caramel sauce last time we went and I have read a few other similar reports. It is not an ingredient in the actual bread pudding, but there is pineapple in that. The bananas are only in the sauce. You can likely ask for it without bananas.

That's good news for me. Appreciate it!

Yep, Just in sauce and usually only 3 or 4 in the sauce. It doesn’t taste like banana at all. It is delicious!

My DH does not like bananas, but loves the bread pudding.
you could probably request that the caramel is kept separate just in case.

Ditto to this, I'm not a banana-in-dessert fan at all and that bread pudding is seriously like crack for me. The rest of the family has to fight me for it!

Good thing I’m not in your family, I would fight dirty for that bread pudding!

(I hate bananas too and I couldn’t taste them fwiw.)

My mom HATES banana and they brought her a sauce without banana. She LOVED the dessert!!! We just had to ask and they were happy to do it!

This so amazing to hear! I'm not a fan of banana tasting things (love bananas though 🤷‍♀️) so I will be indulging in this for sure!

Wish I knew earlier. I LOVE bread pudding, but HATE bananas. I always stayed clear of the dessert because I didnt know there was an option to get it without.

I will also give a shout out to Raglan Rd. Went there for the first time a few weeks ago and their bread pudding was A+++++. Best Ive had in a long long time. (San Angel Inn used to make a great one too, with caramel and chocolate, but I havent seen it on the menu in years :( )

We're going to have to do a bread pudding tasting-tour of the whole property.

If you do, dont miss Bomas breakfast! They have it on the buffet. Its really good, but not Raglan Rd fabulous!
1900 has it too on their morning buffet. Not sure about dinner. You can skip it though...just ok, IMO.

Im bummed I missed the Plaza one. I was there and surely I have would ordered it if I saw it on the menu. Hmmmm. Maybe I did and it just didnt make an impression :confused3 I remember my husband got the banana split, my daughter a sundae too...cant for the life of me remember what I ordered. Just looked at the menu and Im SURE I would have ordered the bread pudding. Stinks to be old 😥
